The rental property is not located at the address listed in the listing; it is in a different location, as the landlord informed me after I arrived in New York.
So there’s no point in checking the location on Google Maps or looking at the photos. The apartment is located in the basement of an old and neglected building. The ceiling height ranges from 180 to 190 cm. It is a basement converted into an apartment. There are no separate bedrooms; instead, there is a single room with a kitchenette, two sleeping areas, and a small bathroom. The place is fairly clean, with hot and cold water, and the kitchenette is equipped with the basics. The biggest problems with this place are the pipes running along the ceiling, likely from the heating system, which heat up to very high temperatures. They run above the beds, right over your head, and heat up to high temperatures, making sleeping there seem dangerous. You can get burned by these pipes, which is exactly what happened to us. Other issues include noise from the heating system and a very loud refrigerator (probably broken). The entrance to the basement looks shabby, and we once saw two rats running near the front door. I definitely do not recommend this place to tourists.
