Much-Needed Relaxation

Perfect place to unwind and enjoy nature. The house was large and accommodating for our party of 6. We loved sitting in the screened porch and outdoors, on the patio overlooking the water.

Overall a wonderful stay. From the views to just being tucked away in the woods. Everything you need to completely relax. There was only 2 things I didn’t really care for . One was there’s only curtains in the bedrooms. Two there is only one tv in the entire house. This doesn’t reflect the 5 star . Just maybe take attn to this. We will be back for sure

Perfect Quiet Getaway

We stayed while attending a wedding in the area. Riverhaus was perfect! So cute and comfortable. Gorgeous property, 5 min from town, excellent amenities. Would love to stay here again!

Hill Country Escape

Family was looking forward to getting out of the city and enjoying peace and quiet by the river. However, the home is located directly off a busy road. The traffic noise was constant. This took away from the location.Also, the furniture could use upgrading. The dining room/breakfast area chairs were metal and not very comfortable.

Simply beautiful place

Check in to the property was very easy. The home was very clean as well. The screened in porch was the hit of the stay as well as the amazing water view and fishing. Wonderful and relaxing stay.

Great little place

We really enjoyed staying here. The house was older but updated. The best part of the say is really the property. The creek that runs outside the house is very clear. My kids enjoyed going on the canoe and the kayak. They also enjoyed swimming. My son put on goggles and swam and looked at the little fish. He said it was awesome. We loved sitting around the fire at night and sitting outside or in the screened in porch each morning. The trees are beautiful!

RiverHaus was perfect!

Great little cabin with a wonderful water view! Screened in patio was nice to sit while it was raining. Very convenient to Wimberley. Will be back to visit again.

Waste of money

The house is cool but needed to be cleaned and there were ants everywhere. The water in the creek was nasty and nobody should go in it, so if you’re looking for a nice place to chill in the water, go elsewhere. It was expensive and me and my group drove all the way from Dallas and they waited until the day of checkin to fill out a rental agreement and then charged me extra because I had 7 people in a home that sleeps 10 and they would share the code to unlock the place until I paid it. Shady group to rent from… 10/10 would not recommend.

Did not meet expectations

The rental unfortunately did not live up to the online listing. We were expecting to have a spot to swim and play in the water as advertised but that was not the case at all. The water was stagnant and smelled and the "creek" bank was completely overgrown with vegetation. The rental also struggled with pest problems including ants that got in our food and a rat which we saw in the bedroom (saw its feces in multiple spots around the house).

Neat little place

The house was really charming, very updated and beautiful setting. However, it was not clean. The floors needed mopping and the whole place needed dusting. The breakers kept tripping in the bathrooms and we ran out of water the last night. Maybe because we had to buy a kiddie pool because there wasn’t access to get in the river and float like the trip was intended for. Plus, all of the water ways and swimming holes in the area were closed for high bacteria levels. Other than that, it was a nice weekend with the girls.

Near perfect

The property was really amazing. The hosts thought of everything. I loved the kayak and canoe to paddle around the water. The property managers also were accommodating. The one downside is that it is next to the highway and the traffic noise was strong when outside. But everything about it was perfect other than that.

This house and property were so beautiful, the house is spacious enough to spread out and the outside spaces along with the screened in porch were great! We really enjoyed hanging out, the hammock and 2 swings were a bonus. We’d definitely stay here again.

Weekend getaway

I love this rental. Close to everything, but far enough away you feel secluded. The creek next to the house is amazing for fly fishing and the fire pit was a nice touch to unwind with. Would stay here again.

Beautiful view, but lots of road noise

We loved the screened porch. However the road noise is a distracting. I discovered the air conditioner in the main bedroom did not work about 8:00 on our first night. While the rest of the house was cool, the bedroom was stuffy. Since I knew they weren't open at that time, I waited until the next morning. She told me they had repaired in 8 (yes, 8) times and apparently a new circuit board was in order. However it wouldn't arrive until after we left. She said we could find another place to stay or since it was a 3 bedroom property we could stay in the third bedroom which had 2 sets of bunk beds. .She offered a $25 credit but only for one night since I didn't inform her of the problem when we arrived. I haven't seen the credit yet. Overall, the house is nice and the grounds are beautiful and relaxing.

A decent getaway but with a catch

It was a decent getaway for us. The property as such was very clean and all the listed amenities. There were good number of outer seating areas and mosquito nets surrounding two outdoor seating regions which would be great in some months of the year. The communication with the hosts was great too as they were prompt and proactive in letting us know of directions etc. The biggest let down for us was the location, the photos make this location seem really good but actually it wasn't. The property has water stream behind but it's filthy and surrounded with large bushes. Also, the property is very close to the roads so it wasn't as quiet as we had hoped it to be. I would think twice if you are thinking of sending your kids in the dirty water especially the area that is accessible from this property. By the way me despite being a photographer I was somehow fooled by the amazing outdoor photos put up on the listing. I am not saying the place was horrible but just that it didn't meet our expectations in terms of location. Hence 4-star rating.

Great spot to get away

House is newly remodeled. Close enough to Wimberley to make quick runs to the store or pick up BBQ for the group, but still very isolated in the hill country. River is great. Fire pit was awesome. Would stay again!
