My review has 2 parts: the post- booking management experience, and the physical property itself. 2 stars is the overall rating .
This property (2 adjacent townhouses for16 people) was booked on VRBO and then completely managed by the property group (as advertised). We stayed in Nashville 8/11-8/14 and booked with a down payment on 3/30. On 7/14, I was contacted by a rep. from the group who explained there had been a double-booking/ "synch" error with our units. 2 alternate units were offered that were "very similar" to our original booking-very close to each other but not adjacent. I agreed to this and a contract was emailed and signed. On 7/27, the same rep. called me to say that there was another double-booking/"synch" error and that our 2 townhouse units were no longer available. The only unit they could offer now was another of their buy-out units: a bottom floor of a hotel with 4 bedrooms/4 beds total that could fit 16 people. With 2 weeks to go, and a group of many couples traveling from all over the country, I was extremely stressed at the prospect of not having lodging and at best having lodging that involved couples sharing rooms and having to sleep on pull-out couches. The rep. said she understood and was quick to say she would cancel our reservation if I wanted, and then she could look for alternate properties for us that weren't part of her company (?!). A quick search showed that 5% of properties were left for a group our size near Nashville on our weekend, one of which was this new unit she was offering. I was very stressed and had to involve other people in my party to see what we should do. The rep. seemed to be reading off of a script and had to keep checking if it was an alternate site or Vrbo that we had booked through, and then assured us that the "synching error" - which occurred twice for us!- would not happen again in the future. At this point it was obvious that the properties in this complex are listed on rental websites past the point filling up in order to maximize profit. I was really worried we would lose our lodging for the weekend. We asked how we could possibly be the most recent booking in this "double-booking/synch error" scenario when we had booked back in March. The final resolution was: we got 1 of our "re-booked" units, and she "cancelled" the people who had booked a unit 4 houses down from that, since they had booked more recently!
