'We really enjoyed our stay at Mauna Loa! The home was very private, comfortable and peaceful. The proximity to Volcano National Park it was only a 6 minute drive- made it convenient to take breaks and for an easy drive to catch the sunrise over the volcanos. The owner, Bud, and his dog Lizzy are really engaging to chat with but also respect your privacy if you prefer. We loved soaking in the hot tub at the end of our days spent hiking. '

'Our host as very accommodating and responded to anything we needed. The daylight lower apartment is nicely set up. We could see a little view of trees and the water from the small deck with a surrounding flowering garden.We were able to make meals on the hot plate and small refrigerator provided. A microwave and coffee pot is available too. The bathroom is beautiful and the bed comfortable. It was in a neighborhood, so stores are 20 to 30 minutes away. But we appreciated the quiet and snorkling...

'What a beautiful home overlooking the ocean. You see local fishermen late at night and early morning fishing off the cliffs surrounding the house. Lots of beautiful decorative touches in the house and lots of ocean exposure. Much has been done to maintain the house against the salt corrosion. Peaceful place far from town to relax'

'My husband and I went with our three children, son in law and our three grandkids. The house was perfect for the 9 of us. We spent a lot of time in the morning and evening on the lanai. It was so peaceful and there is Manini Beach Park where you can get in the ocean that’s about a 5 minute walk.
