Perfect stay
My family and I stayed a week in this accomodation and we simply had a wonderful time! The castle is beautiful and very well equipped. There are three beautiful big bedrooms, each with a nice bathroom. The outside area is cosy and the jacuzzi is an absolute plus!! The owners are really friendly and helpful. Overall I can greatly recommend staying in the pretty pink castle!!

Nous avons passé un séjour entre collègues de travail et ce fût vraiment une parenthèse de calme très appréciable. La maison est encore plus belle que sur les photos. Tout y est pour se sentir comme dans sa propre maison de campagne ! La nature environnante nous a charmé.... Apéros sur la terrasse et jacuzzi a la nuit tombée....Le rêve... What a magnificent property!
Our party consists of five Scottish retirees who holiday together regularly. We are two couples and a single gentleman. This year (2018) we spent a week here at Montreuil between the 15th and 22nd September followed by three nights at Samois sur Seine. Here Camille and her father have resurrected a ruin and created the most charming holiday property imaginable. The "petit chateau" is furnished and fitted out in a style wholly appropriate for the character of the building and there are all sorts of interesting period artefacts. The rooms are well proportioned and bright. Spiral staircases are a feature. Seating and beds are very comfortable. The kitchen has a large pantry cum utility room cum prep room off which is well equipped for catering. The hot tub/jacuzzi beside the outside sitting area is a great feature which our party enjoyed daily. A great deal of pleasure can be had by experimenting with the various controls and settings! A favourite of all of us was Ragnar the robot lawnmower. We called him Ragnar to reflect his Swedish origins (Husqvarna). He pottered around cutting away and would periodically return to his dock for another meal of electricity before setting off again. There is a boulangerie/patisserie in the village, a 15 minute walk from the chateau, which makes brilliant bread and croissants as well as a wide range of thoroughly wicked and enjoyable temptations. Lastly, but far from least, Camille is lovely. She was very welcoming and attentive and was able to point us to various places (such as the Fromagerie Ganot nearby - a must visit. Limited opening times, so worth checking.) All in all a fabulous place to holiday. Highly recommended.

Nous avons passé 2 jours avec des amis et des enfants et le lieu est vraiment merveilleux! Très calme en plein milieu des bois, le château est plein de surprise, décoré avec goût, tout le luxe nécessaire, une hôte charmante... On serait vraiment restés plus longtemps! Nous gardons l'adresse pour une prochaine fois, bien entendu!

I have a 5 year old grand daughter who called it pink castle. Worked for the rest of us too. We had a magical stay. If you love combining inside living with outside, this is it. Hidden in a 5 acre lot you have privacy and lots of nature abounds....birds, tiny lizards, bees, flowers, sounds of deer in the woods, star gazing and munchies with champagne each night out on the terrace. The hot tub was great for the kids and adults alike. The town is friendly and offers bakery, local fare resturant, good spot for cafe au lait in the morning while sitting outside watching the minimal traffic pass by. and Camille, she's very accommodating and lovely

Our very own castle!
We spent a week in the unique La Folie du Chanois and gad a lovely family holiday. Our son (31 years) and grandson (6 years) were both equally excited on our arrival to explore all areas of their very own castle (well, for a week, anyway!) The host, Camille, has presented a property with everything you could need or want for a very comfortable stay. Our daughter-in-law relaxed in the spa/hot tub, the men went exploring in the woodland and we enjoyed many delicious meals with locally bought produce. Croissants and bread, a small shop, and a pizza vending machine (that's a new one on us!) are all availablein the village, only 10minutes walk away. Between us we visited Disneyland Paris, the Chateaux of Fontainbleau and Compeigne, and the towns of Meaux, Reims and Chateau-Thierry, with its pleasant riverside amenities and war memorial (views of the town are impressive from up there). We would thoroughly recommend this special property.

Allen positiven Kommentaren, die ja im Überfluss vorhanden sind, können wir uns nur anschließen. Es ist ein besonders schönes Haus in einer traumhaften Lage. Wir werden die zwei wunderschönen Wochen bestimmt nie vergessen. Abgesehen von den reichlich vorhandenen und sehr sehenswerten Schlössern und Kathedralen (Château-Thierry, Pierrefonds, Beauvais, Chantilly, Vaux-le-Vicomte, Compiègne) sollte man auch einen Blick in das kleine und sehenswerte Museum des lokalen Künstlers André Planson in La Ferté-sous-Jouarre werfen (nur samstags und sonntags geöffnet). Tolles Schlösschen mitten in der Natur
Wir fanden unseren Aufenthalt im le chanois sehr schön. Das Schlösschen ist wirklich toll und liegt Mitten in der Natur. Das bedeutet aber auch, dass es viele Insekten gibt, womit wir aber gut klar gekommen sind. In der Unterkunft gibt es viel zu entdecken. Die Bäder und Betten waren sehr sauber und letztere auch sehr gemütlich. Für unsere Prinzessin gab's sogar ein richtiges Prinzessinnen-Zimmer :-) Die Lage ist auf jeden Fall top. Man ist schnell im Disneyland und in Paris (Tip: Zugverbindung A ab Bahnhof Torcy). Auch in der näheren Umgebung gibt es viel zu erkunden. Die Bäckerei im Ort ist sehr zu empfehlen und auch zu Fuß schnell zu erreichen. Die Zufahrt zum Haus ist eher abenteuerlich. Ca. 200 m teilweise recht holpriger Waldweg. Sportlichere Fahrzeuge sollten hier sehr vorsichtig fahren. Alles in allem eine tolles Ferienhaus und nur zu empfehlen.

A magical place
We stayed as a family of 7 to celebrate our daughter’s 7th birthday (age range 7-78!) Only 30 minutes from Disneyland which was perfect for a day trip. Driving up to the pink castle in the woods is just magical. The property and surroundings are absolutely beautiful, a real gem in the French countryside. The house itself is exceptional, very well kept and clean, a unique place to stay. Camille was wonderful, we couldn’t ask for more. A high light for us was champagne tasting by the hot tub with Ophelie from Cricco vineyard. Needless to say a few bottles have travelled home with us! Our children (7&11) spent hours in with garden bug hunting and following the gecko’s. If you love nature you’ll love this house. We were very sad to leave and will be making a return trip next year. We would highly recommend this properly.

The Pink Castle Retreat
My family and I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Pink Castle. The location was just superb and the castle and grounds themselves were picturesque. We will most definitely be back again. The host Camille could not have been more helpful and she really helped us out when our hire car fell through. She arranged another one for us and then was kid enough to ask her family to take us back to airport for our return flight. The only one negative about the castle would be that the rooms are quite far away from each other and it’s not ideal for families with small children. The small attic room above the master bedroom would be ideal for a small child. Wonderful stay and the weather was just beautiful!

Amazing Family Adventure!

A short bathe in the forest
Life amongst the trees in a pink turreted folie should be a surrealist’s dream or a childish Fantasy. Grandchildren and Grown Ups alike were enchanted and delighted to stay, albeit too briefly, in this ‘sleeping beauty’ castle hidden amongst the trees. Torn between: The peaceful confines of privately secluded & spacious sunlit rooms furnished by up or down spiral staircases with medieval doors and subtly heated floors Or the Mad Hatter bonkers busyness of ‘downtown’ Disneyland Paris. What welcome relief to return exhausted to a warm & welcoming hot tub amongst the trees and retire to a thoughtfully designed room with a comfortable bed. All our expectations met & exceeded & looking forward to the next chapter in this, our very own fairy tale.

A wonderful holiday.
As we rounded the corner of the drive to our destination, we couldn’t believe how pretty the castle and the grounds were. The outside space is lovely to spend time in. My wife and I enjoyed the jacuzzi & between us we read 12 novels in 2 weeks. A great place to unwind in, but also near to a number of great places to day-trip to. We took the train to Paris & enjoyed the Seine via BateauBus. We went to Troyes for the day. Reims was beautiful as were many of the smaller towns in the Champagne Region, nearby.. Needless to say, many glasses of Champagne were drunk, as well as some great wine, gin & beer - not all at the same time I hasten to add! Ten out of ten & we hope to return. Many thanks to Camille for all of her help. Paul.

Het reserveren en contact met de host ging soepel. Foto's en advertentie klopte ook met werkelijkheid, erg fijne sfeer. Heerlijk privé in het bos, honden welkom, fijne jacuzzi, heel fijn dat elke kamer zijn eigen badkamer had. Veel luxe en voorziening. Paar kanttekeningen: Waterdruk is wel iets aan de zachte kant, in het huis wel veel spinnenwebjes en het pad naar het huisje erg hobbelig en heel voorzichtig rijden. Maar het is allemaal wel vergeven voor wat je ervoor terug krijgt met deze unieke accommodatie!!!

I’ve never before been in such an amazing home. Everything you could imagine you need for you stay is there (from kitchen necessities to bathrobes for the jacuzzi). The bedrooms are huge and all 3 have their own bath, shower and toilet. Would love to go back there! If you visit, try out the champagne at Cricco (10 minute drive) their rosé champagne is sublime.

Traumhafte Unterkunft: absolut empfehlenswert!
Wir haben unseren Urlaub im La folie du Chanois sehr genossen! Das Anwesen liegt inmitten eines Wäldchens in Alleinlage. Die Zufahrt dürfte, aufgrund einiger Hubbel für tiefergelegte Autos problematisch sein, für normale Autos jedoch kein Problem. Man ist völlig ungestört und kann richtig abschalten und die Seele baumeln lassen! Die drei separaten Schlafbereiche inklusive Badezimmer und Toiletten sind komplett voneinander getrennt, sodass sich auch ein Urlaub mit Freunden hier anbietet, da man Rückzugsmöglichkeiten hat und die Privatsphäre untereinander zu 100% gewährleisten kann. Das Wohnzimmer ist sehr gemütlich mit einer großen Couch als Mittelpunkt. Für alle Mediensüchtigen: Der Fernseher ist eher klein und altbacken, dafür gibt‘s aber ordentliches Wlan. Auch der Küchenbereich mit seinem schönen Esstisch lässt keine Wünsche offen. Alle notwendigen Kochutensilien lassen sich dort finden. Für die morgendliche Kaffeedröhnung steht eine Kapsel-Espressomaschine als auch eine French Press zur Verfügung. Es gibt eine separate Spülküche in der auch der große Kühlschrank untergebracht ist, sodass sich Kochen und Saubermachen prima voneinander trennen lässt. Die Räumlichkeiten sind sauber, gepflegt, gemütlich und äußerst geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Sicherlich ein Highlight dieser Unterkunft ist der erholsame Spa-Bereich im Garten, erreichbar über das Wohnzimmer oder die Küche. Tagsüber oder Abends noch eine Runde in den Whirlpool einzutauchen mit einstellbaren Blubberdüsen und atmosphärisch-buntem Lichterwechsel ist einfach grandios. Gerade im Herbst mit den etwas kühleren Temperaturen und der frühen Abenddämmerung wirklich ein Erlebnis. Im Außenbereich des Grundstücks findet sich auch eine Tischtennisplatte, die wir leider aufgrund der Wetterverhältnisse fast gar nicht nutzen konnten. Der Bäcker ist etwa 10-15 Minuten Fußweg entfernt, mit dem Auto geht‘s Ratzfatz. Interessante Ausflugsziele sind sicher Paris, Chateau Fontainebleau, Meaux, Provins und die Gegend rund um Épernay, das Herz der Champagnerherstellung. Der schriftliche sowie der persönliche Kontakt mit der Besitzerin vor Ort war stets sehr unkompliziert und ausgesprochen angenehm. Von der ersten Mail bis zur Abfahrt hat Alles reibungslos und ohne Probleme funktioniert. Perfekt! Fazit: Wir würden jederzeit wieder buchen und möchten uns noch einmal herzlich für Alles bedanken. Es war eine schöne Zeit...

Le Chateau moderne
We have been to France many times and Le Chanois was easily the most fun. The privacy of each bedroom was ideal, all on different levels. The cuisine had all the amenities. Wonderful windows everywhere. The A-4 Autoroute is about 2 miles away so you can easily get to Paris, Reims ,took Veuve Clicquot tour of champagne cellars, Epernay (champagne), Provins (heritage site). Meaux, had a great "light" lunch at a small place called the Patate a Modeler, giant stuffed baked potatoes (my mouth is watering) & other items. Owner speaks fluent English. Not far from St Etienne church.

Wat een fijne plek!
Het' roze kasteeltje' is een heerlijke plek om te verblijven. Heerlijk rustig en toch binnen 35 minuten met de auto naar Disneyland Parijs en per trein sta je binnen 40 minuten midden in Parijs. Aan de rand van de Champagne streek, met prachtige routes. Het huis heeft 3 zeer royale slaapkamers, allemaal met eigen badkamer en toilet. Doordat de slaapkamers ook allemaal met een eigen trap te bereiken zijn, hoor je helemaal niets van elkaar (wat me met kleine kinderen lastig lijkt, die liggen dan wel heel alleen en ze moeten dan altijd eerst 2 trappen op en/of af om bij een andere slaapkamer te komen. De eigenaresse Camille is heel vriendelijk en lost eventuele kleine dingetjes direct op. Ze is zeer attent en behulpzaam. Het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien en huiselijk ingericht. De jacuzzi is heerlijk (zeker na een lange dag Disney of Parijs). Een enorme aanrader, we hebben genoten!

A wonderful property in a lovely location
As you drive up the path into the forest you are met with a view the impressive pink castle and there to greet us was the robotic lawn mower. The property is wonderful, very spacious and well equipped compared to many properties we have previous stayed in. If you like wildlife then you will not be disappointed with this location. There are many varieties of birds, insects and even red squirrels. The hot tub is fabulous and a great way to relax after a long day walking. We will no doubt revisit this property at some point in the future. Finally thank you to Camille who was very helpful.

Amazing!
A beautiful, well equipped pink castle. Set in the middle of a private wood, the castle is secluded with no nearby neighbours. Camille was lovely with suggestions of local events. The castle offers spacious rooms with a castle feel, whilst being underfloor heated and having a laundry! The gardens are a joy and offer loads of room for the kids to run around, There is a Mowbot who keeps the grass tidy. Close to Disney, historic war memorials such as belleau wood and also a plethora of champagne houses. Amazing Castle, great location, wonderful owner...Fabulous holiday

Les photos sur Internet sont belles... la réalité le surpasse encore loin! Restauré avec beaucoup d'amour, décoré avec beaucoup de saveur, très bien équipé, il n'y a rien qui manque. Vous vous sentez immédiatement 'à la maison'. Grandes chambres avec salles de bains privée exceptionellement concues. Une expérience merveilleuse pour moi en tant que designer d'intérieur. À des températures autour de 0 degrés la nuit se trouvant dans un spa semble impossible? Non...formidable. Nous avons cherché un peu de tranquillité et trouvé un endroit pour rêver. C'était dix jours inoubliables. Merci Camille pour tout! Nous espérons pouvoir revenir bientôt.

Wie in einem Märchen!
Das Haus ist sehr gemütlich, vieles ist aus Massivholz mit Liebe zum Detail gemacht. Camille ist sehr freundlich und hat auf unsere Fragen sofort geantwortet. Wir haben da eine tolle und entspannte Woche verbracht und kommen bestimmt wieder. Es gibt auch ganz viele Ausflugsmöglichkeiten in der Nähe.

Excellent. A castle feel with underfloor warmth. Cloudless night sky from hot tub. Spiral staircases galore. Parc Astérix, champagne trail, WWI museum at Meaux, jigsaw, private wood. Very happy.

Property with a lot of character and very well equipped.
La Folie du Chanois is very well placed for visiting the area around Paris. If you wished to visit Disneyland it is 30 mins away. We chose to go to Parc Astérix which is just over an hour away. There are pretty towns and villages to explore and the Champagne producing area. We visited castles and palaces such as Chantilly and Pierrefond. There is access to WW1 sites along la Marne river. Le Musée de la grande guerre is well worth a visit. La Folie is located in a small wood. We enjoyed the patio at the back with sun loungers and the hot tub/ spa surrounded by trees and bird song. We could hear the woodpeckers but only saw one once. Lovely artisanal Baker in the village. Our 20 and 22 year old daughters chose to share one of the twin bedrooms downstairs because the other was deemed spooky. As has been previously commented on the bedrooms are all separated on different staircases and may be an issue with young children. All the bathrooms / showers were good. We found the waterproof mattress covers a bit hot to sleep on. Camille the owner is lovely and very considerate. Overall an amazing and unusual property, very well equipped, and furnished with antiques. May well visit again.

Brilliant Family Holiday
Stayed at the pink castle for the first week of Aug 2018 with our 5 and 1 year old (4 of us) Was very pleased with our accommodation, clean, comfortable and extremely spacious. Good kitchen/equipment, good showers, comfortable beds and sofa - the only issue we had was the internet wasn't working due to an external problem outside Camille's control and they bent over backwards to sort out and bought a mobile internet box to use until the internet service provider fixed the issue. The property is big and yes it can feel like the rooms are far apart as none of them are on the main living room/kitchen/garden floor but there are doors than can be opened to the downstairs two rooms making access much easier. As it was exceptionally hot when we stayed we all slept in the rooms downstairs as it was cooler. The stairs were not an issue with our children. We visited the Effiel Tower, Disney, Chateaux Thierry (Buffalo Grill good restaurant and kids loved it) and had a few days exploring the woods, playing table tennis, football/frisbee in the garden. Very peaceful, great location, loads to do and fab place to chill out (can recommend the hot tub after a day at Disney!) We just loved it here and plan to come back. Can def recommend the pink castle!

Ein sehr schönes Feriendomizil, mitten im Wald, die Gastgeberin sehr freundlich und bemüht, den Aufenthalt angenehm zu gestalten, in der Nähe Ausflugsziele, Badeseen, Paris 80 km entfernt, hier verbringt man gern den Urlaub, kleines Highlight :der Whirlpool am Haus, besonders zur Entspannung nach einem Ausflugstag. Am Abend mit Champagner sieht man den Fledermäusen bei der Jagd zu unter dem Sternenhimmel

Fantastic House and only 30 minutes from Disney
Amazing house - three rooms , thee stair cases and three bathrooms - and a bonus of a hot tub after a long day . Camille could not have been more helpful !
