Located between Cholet and Doué-la-Fontaine, come and stay at La Gaucherie Aux Dames in Montilliers. This comfortable cottage offers magnificent, unobstructed views of the countryside: a calm, peaceful setting surrounded by nature. The property is built on the ruins of a castle and a convent, now converted into a farm and tourist accommodations.

This stone building has a special charm thanks to its large open fireplace and beautiful wooden beams. Inside, you'll find a 30m² living room with a dining area for 6 to 8 people, a lounge with a sofa, armchairs, and a television. In the adjoining kitchen, you'll never tire of admiring the view while enjoying breakfast or cooking! Also on the ground floor is a master suite with a 140x190cm bed, a shower room with shower and toilet. A second shower room with toilet is also located on the ground floor.

Upstairs, a small mezzanine leads to the 9m² (17m² floor area) bedroom under the eaves. It contains one 160x200cm bed and one 90x190cm bed. On the other side of the mezzanine, a small 8m² room (floor area) could be a pleasant space for children, with two 90x190cm beds.

Outside, enjoy a private garden of approximately 250m² with a covered area, garden furniture, a barbecue, a sun lounger, and a swing. From the garden, you'll have a view of the small pond and the surrounding fields. You might encounter horses, sheep, and cows on the property. Hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trails are nearby.

Nearby attractions include the Bioparc de Doué la Fontaine (20 minutes away), Saumur (40 minutes away), Angers (45 minutes away), and Puy du Fou (50 minutes away). Also worth visiting: Camifolia in Chemillé, the Oriental Park of Maulévrier, the Museum of Trades in Sevremoine, the Anjou-Saumur vineyards, and the Layon Valley.

Access: Coming from Angers, before the village of Montilliers, take direction Valanjou. The road turns and goes down, crossing a river. After the bridge on the left, La Montée. At the next crossroads, turn left to take Vihiers. 500m on your left. Go down after the two large pillars. Coming from Cholet: Take the Le Voide exit. After the castle at the small roundabout turn left, Le Voide, Thouarcé. At 500m when the road forks, turn right, direction Machelles, Thouarcé following the river. Follow the river for 3-4 km until you reach a rise crossing a small wood. At the top of the hill it is signposted La Gaucherie aux Dames. Go down after the two large pillars and you are there! Coming from Saumur, head towards Doué la Fontaine/Vihiers, then Montilliers. Leaving the village of Montilliers, head towards Valanjou. The road turns and goes down, crossing a river.
