Fun experience! No check in, your code was emailed and texted to you. Linens and towels were provided. Heater worked well but it set the fire alarm off. Rooster will wake you up at dawn. Deer roam the property
The domes were unique and as stated inside.
Not air-conditioned but swamp cooler.
Domes close together with no flat area outside to sit and enjoy nature.
Dome tents were a unique experience. Comfortable and roomy. Nice to be close to the ground. Good to have private bath but it was a walk out of the tent that you got used to.
Our experience at the Domes was great. We did have a small hickup with the water pump in our restroom, but the camp hosts fixed is in lighting speed. The site was very peaceful and the dome was wonderful. There was a heater and swamp cooler that both worked well. The vinyl on the windows could have been a bit more clear for improved views of the beautiful site. Note that Domes 1-5 have detached restrooms w/showers, but they are still private to your dome number which was nice. We are used to tent camping so this was definitely a wonderful glamping experience.
Twas a road trip with my travel buddies, glamping had been part of our bucket list. So glad that we had this fulfilled during this trip. Everything that we had imagined came to life. Wished we could have stayed longer..... next time. This was even an unexpected booking, we cancelled our previous reservation due to one of our friends was not able to join, with search this Canyonland Dome came up, never regretted.
We were very happy with the comfort of the bed and the heating system for the dome. We were disappointed to find that the transparency of the dome was very limited (unlike how it appears in the picture) and this meant that star-gazing was not an option from inside the dome. We were able to do some from outside the dome but it was pretty cold.
The dome was spacious and comfortable. Enjoyed the dark sky. The external shower and toilet was ok but it was chilly outside! The ground was a little muddy so it was a minor inconvenience to carry things around. It was like a much more comfy camping experience. On the whole we'd come back and would recommend to others.
The bathroom was not in the room, and it was freezing and snowing through the night. The bathroom was so cold that it was uncomfortable to get a shower. The extra bed for my daughter was not a futon; it was a camping cot that we had to assemble upon arrival. We had to ask for washcloths when they were not included with bath supplies. The shower/tub was a metal tub reconfigured into a shower by hanging a curtain up around it. The room was warmed by an electric space heater and the carbon monoxide detector was in the room but had no batteries, so we had to request them.
