We love the historic look of the Balsam mountain Inn, we learned that it changed ownership a few years back and the new owners are looking to preserve the classic look that appeals to everyone so much. They want to keep it as original as possible which is great, the down side of that is they removed the window units from the rooms. « 6 mins from NOC where we were going White water rafting. There are no elevators and all rooms are on second floor so you have to be able to navigate stairs. We got there later than planned and directions for late check in were clear and easy! They texted us later to make sure we fot in ok »
