The space
Luxury and secure 6 by 5 meter thatch covered self contained tent for two on the Keringet Estate in Tiwi. Ocean/Beach plot with fabulous cliff top pool for your sole use with the accommodation set back in a cool designer tropical palm garden with lots of monkeys, bird life and at night with Bush Babies. If you are not familiar with them a quick check on the internet will enlighten you.

The beach is a mere 30 meters to the left or right of us and has easy steps down to a beautiful sandy and very quiet beach. Unlike the main Diani Beach we have no beach boys. Most of the time you will have the beach to yourself. There is great swimming when the tide is in. At low tide you can walk for miles along the reef finding many shallow pools to wallow in.

Over the last few months we have witnessed many turtle hatching's on our beach. Our resident guide Saidi is knowledgeable about the location and timings of all these events.
We also have the Starfish Island just a brief walk away and in the opposite direction the famous Tiwi Rock Pools.
Saidi, also the starfish caretaker would be happy to take you on a tour to see them both.
He is a real authority on the Star fish and the local Green Turtle.
His nominal charge of $5 per person for the tour must be the greatest value environmental tour in Kenya.

If you really wish to be pampered take chef Charles at $15 per day and pay him directly. Breakfast lunch and dinner. He can also do your minor shopping chores if you wish.
In addition we have a third party shopping service at $30 with a expansive online shopping list which you can complete and submit.
If you are arriving late or just wish everything to be ready on your arrival you can fill it in and everything will be bought for you and delivered to the kitchen.
You just pay when you get here.

If you wish we can also arrange for fresh seafood to be delivered for your arrival.

We have free Wi Fi of 1gb per day but as supplied by third party we do not guarantee its quality.
Most of the time we have no problem with it.
For guests arriving from overseas we suggest you purchase a local sim card and buy a data bundle.
Data bundles can be had for as little as $5 for 5 GB.

Guest access
You have access to the entire plot including 2 km running track within the grounds. We have 25 acres of land all within a security wall 2.5 meters high.
Other things to note
We can arrange trips to the local sandbars to see the starfish island or to the nearby famous Tiwi Rock pools.

Security: Please be aware that due to our business with Diplomatic missions and other NGO's we have a security policy that only allows accredited taxis/transfers onto our property. Tuk Tuks and unknown motor cycles (Boda Bodas) will not be given access to the interior. We pride ourselves on privacy.

Transfers
We have had on a number of occassions incidences when Tuk Tuks and taxis claim to know the way to our place.
They convieniently get lost and end up charging clients far more than the quoted fare.
Our own transfer vehicles and drivers have been with us for years, they know the way and we trust them completely.
Upon booking you will receive a factsheet with all transfer prices and lots more.

vrbo has a policy on bugs and insects. I doubt if there is anywhere in Africa or any other continent for that matter where you will not find some form of what we call Dudus. i.e Something that is small and moves or flies around. Could be anything from an ant to a grasshopper etc etc. At the moment there are swarms of locusts affecting the northern part of Kenya and our neighbours to the north Sudan and Somalia. We have not been affected here in any way but it is our duty as a host to inform guests of their existence.
Please also note the pool is not annexed to the front cliff top pool. The pool itself is for your sole use and not open to the public. The tent is set back in a much cooler environment surrounded by a tropical palm garden.

Safaris

Sabine and I have been in Kenya for a sum total of over 80 years and we always take our Safari to Satao Camp in Tsavo.

The camp is only 4 hours drive from our home.
Our latest trip was just recently. We went with guests and received this email in return.

Our game drives were exceptional. Our driver, Timothy, from Southern Cross, was outstanding.
He was a safe and very experienced driver and his knowledge of the wildlife was incomparable.

find game we hadn’t seen and in the end we saw everything we could have wanted.

Activities
There are many activities you can pursue on the South Coast.
Diving, kiting, windsurfing, stand up paddle boards and much more.
Whale shark watching in season. (November to February)
Very near the villa is Starfish Island which is probably the most popular of all short day trips only a 10 minute walk away.
Also very near are the famous Tiwi Rock pools.

Suggested day trips

Pilli Pipa Dhow Safari operates a snorkeling and diving dhow safari to Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park on the South Coast.
They are dedicated conservationists, and are highly regarded for quality of service and safety.
Extremely high chances of spotting dolphins.
You can choose to dive with them or just go snorkelling.
Their equipment is top quality and comprehensive.
All levels of experience.
A lunch of mangrove crab and freshly caught fish is served with drinks in their own private garden on Wasini Island.

Their prices include pick up and return to your villa.
