Upon arrival, we noticed some very unsavory men located around the building, not too much of a concern, but just a little unnerving. Went to find ice and had to go on a whole journey around the facilities to find the ice machine tucked into the small laundry room, where there was a small sign pointing to the location, was very inconvenient to find. Pillowcases had other peoples hair in them, and bathroom towels were stained with mysterious stains. Wall sockets did not work most of the time, and one of the lamps was missing a light bulb. Shower supplies such as soap and shampoo were EMPTY and we were left with tiny little bars of soap to use. Overall, it wasn’t the worst experience we’ve had, hopefully improvement happens in the future.

The Bel Aire was a pleasant surprise. It is definitely an old hotel that has gone through some renovations and they were good modern choices. It felt clean and was quiet. The AC could have gotten colder for our liking and the only other negative we had were the bright flood lights that were on all night. Yes they made it safe and bright however they were so bright it was really bright in the room, like I woke up at 1am and thought the sun was up already. I would recommend blackout shades if others had this same issue. We would stay here again. It was close to downtown with a lot of shopping and restaurant choices.

When we arrived at the property, we were told that our room number would be 102, however, when we got to room 102 the bed was not made. It was not ready for guests. So we went back to the hotel manager he took us to three other rooms that were the same condition, finally we were given a room. He said he would come back with a key he never did. The room had a really bad odor and was an ill repair. The manager seemed to be under the influence of some substance.

First off, this motel is simple, definitely no bells or whistles which we knew beforehand. When we arrived, there was hair on most of the pillows, I went to take a shower and hair all over the walls. Then my wife went to use the toilet and there were remnants of vomit in the toilet bowl. So we complained and they offered to move us to a different room. We get to the new room, still hairs on most of the pillows, but the shower is clean… er. But low and behold, now our AC does not work. So back to the office we go. And Tim, the manager says “well I can try to get hold of engineering to see if they can help,” and ALAS! Did engineering ever come? No. So. They gave us a fan. And after all of that, I asked for some money back for the inconvenience, and he said “I will try, but no guarantee.” And then when I followed up regarding the refund, that they never gave us, he had the audacity to say “all I can say is, please come see us again and it will be better.” NICE TRY. I do not recommend. Pay the extra money and go stay at the wren!

Second time here. Clean and comfy refurbished room. Front desk guy Tim was super friendly and helpful. Location is very walkable to downtown. Only downside is some train noise on occasion. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a great stay at Bel Aire Motel! In town for a concert so it was a quick trip but this place met all of our needs. Special shout out to the staff who went above and beyond to help when I left some of my jewelry in the room. They were so accommodating and searched the room for us. When they didn’t find it they let us come back the next day to search before the cleaning crews came and I found my jewelry!!! 10/10. We will be staying here again next time we are in Missoula.

The manager was exceptional. We came in very late after their hour but he got up to deal with us, very friendly and trying. He gave us late check out, and deals we could have if we visited again. The facility is quite old even though it is renovated and decorated cute. The bathroom wasn’t so clean but hoping they will fix the problem after they stuff enough workers. We will totally visit and stay again, especially the new manager’s effort. Thank you Tim.

The property was under new management (maybe a week?) and undergoing renovation when we arrived. Our room was clean, but very basic, and there was no WiFi or cable TV reception. We asked and were told they were still working to set it up with the cable company. The location was convenient, as it is easy walking distance to downtown shopping and a number of dining options, and a short drive (or jog, or longer walk) to the university campus and stadium and riverside trails. This is an older property, and the renovations they have done so far (extensive shelving, new bathrooms) are attractive. Hopefully it will be a better value for the money and more convenient once the work is complete.

The location here is great, easy walking to downtown and school. The check-in was easy, staff were attentive and friendly. The price is very reasonable, so that helps. The room is halfway updated, but as if for speed rather than function. There is a mini fridge, microwave, tv, and table with chairs, so the basics are covered. The walls are completely bare. The bathroom is the downfall, the giant door sticks, so difficult to open or close. The shower is a walk-in, but the drain is not at the low point, so you stand in your own puddle. The shower head is at a fixed angle that sprays water out of shower area, so you have to get bath mat just right. The sink is a floating sink, and already seems to be coming off wall. There is nowhere to put your stuff, no counter, shelf, and there is one tiny mirror. I am hoping it is a work in progress.

Great, economical, clean option for any event downtown or at the University. Obviously a remodeled property without frills, but 100% acceptable. No fridge, but wasn't an issue for me. Desk staff was friendly and informative. Will definitely stay again.

This place is rated very good on Expedia, it's anything but very good! Our faucet in the bathroom was not secured to the sink, the electric outlet for the entrance light didn't work, the cups provided on the room were wet on the inside and outside of the plastic wrap, the room lighting was absolutely terrible, a Do Not Disturb sign was not provided and worst of all there are no window shades covering the blinds, making it difficult to fall asleep because of light entering the room. Finally the parking spots are very narrow and the staff didn't know where the ice machine was. My advice, pay a little more and stay elsewhere.

I booked the motel online as it was affordable and in a great location close to downtown and lots of the amenities. The staff there was exceptionally accommodating, particularly the new front desk, clerk Tim. I came into town with a small trailer because we are camping prior and he was more than willing to help us find parking for it at the backside of the hotel. He also changed from a single bedroom to a double bedroom cause I had new people coming. They are fresh coffee, and donuts in the morning and Tim was always friendly and helpful. I plan on staying at the Bel Air every time I go to Missoula from now on this review was not written with the help of AI And it’s real from the real jim P don’t tell too many people about the Bel-Air. It’s a gem.
