Excellent ski lodging, next to Canyon Lodge parking lot, short 3 minutes walk to Canyon Lodge. Building dated but well kept. We experienced a record snow season.
Close to the mountain, well appointed, comfortable furnishings,. Great that it is across the street from the Austria Haus since blizzard conditions made it challenging to go elsewhere.
We had a wonderful stay. The unit was well appointed in the kitchen. The rooms were clean and tidy. Parking was easy and the front desk office person was as friendly as could be.
Will stay here again.
Not bad. Older but renovated, but showing some signs of age. The building needs new carpeting and probably painting - odd smell in hallway. Pools seemed nice, but the Cornhole equipment was badly deteriorated. Given wrong directions by manager for getting to condo and ended up on opposite side of town. Small leak under sink during stay, and dishwasher had water pooled in bottom after cycle. One burner on stove appeared inoperable. No icemaker in refrigerator (apparently difficult to pipe water to it). Living room TV placed high on wall above fireplace, which made watching difficult when trying to eat at the same time. Comfortable couches, and a gas fireplace that nicely heated the living room. Some noise at night from restaurant across the street. Single key attached to chain so two-step lockbox had to be opened every time door used - should have direct keypad lock. Wood room accessed with key, but since key chained, it could not be used to access wood room. Good feature was bathroom on each floor. The beds were generally okay, but large bed in upstairs bedroom is very high and could be a problem for the elderly. Super friendly and helpful woman in building office when it was open. Overall not a bad condo, but from 20 years of experience in renting in Mammoth, I think better condos are available for the same or less money.
The unit was clean and comfortable. The furniture and appointments were higher end making it feel more like a home and less like a rental. The location is great, quiet at night, yet close (across the street) to a nice restaurant with an excellent happy hour). We'd stay again.
walkable to canyon lodge...its at the far end of the parking lot, and right in front of austia hof... great place to grab a drink or eat. we are a family of 5, and it was very comfortable...there are 2 single beds that was perfect for our kids... appliances were working great..pretty much new everything. Beds were also in good condition...we did not see a bbq grill on the balcony...not sure if that was in the listing but would be great in the summer. overall, its a good spot and would stay again.
The unit is the first door by the stairs. People were up and down the stairs until two in the morning and it was LOUD.
The toilet in the master bathroom broke. We called the property management company at 9 in the morning to get it fixed. Management said someone would fix it, but nobody showed up. At 4 pm I texted the management to follow up and was told the hardware store was closed so someone would come the next day. This was an obvious excuse as they knew of the issue all day. There are only two bathrooms. The second one is upstairs on the other side of the second bedroom. So for anyone to use a restroom they had to walk by the kids sleeping. You can see the problem.
Finally, the entire hallway smelled like weed. This made our family very uncomfortable. We ended up leaving a day early.
On December 28th, my wife tested positive for Covid. We immediately contacted the Owner's representative to advise them of the status in an attempt to get them to list the property again. With days ahead and the record snowfall in Mammoth, it WOULD HAVE been reserved by another family. The Owner's representative (Grand Welcome) was almost impossible to get ahold of. I left numerous messages and sent emails without response for many hours. Finally, I was able to get ahold of a representative that simply said, "Sorry, there is nothing that I can do." Hence, after testing daily to see if the COVID virus was present or not, out of the safety for the cleaning crews, others in the facility or at Mammoth Mountain, we elected not to go. We lost $3,500 without any consideration or assistance from the Owner to reschedule or work with us. They figured that they already had my money and didn't care to assist. We travel to Mammoth many times a year and we will never work with this Owner again.
We went to this property with our two daughters, age 4 and 6, as well as with my mother.
The condo was decorated for Christmas and very cozy! The location was an easy walk to the Canyon lodge as well and check in instructions were easy to follow.
Overall the stay was great and we would stay here again for sure!
