Completed in 2026, the Castaway Palms upper suites sit atop a beachfront estate in El Placer / Rio Indio on the Mahahual coast. Each suite has a king bed, private tiled bathroom with stone pebble shower floor, and air conditioning, opening onto a generous partially covered terrace — part open to the warm Caribbean sky,
part shaded under a screened tropical pergola. A spectacular live-edge hardwood dining table, teak seating, and bougainvillea bursting in pink and yellow surround you. The outdoor kitchenette has a microwave, coffee maker, two-burner electric stove, and mini fridge. The ocean is always within earshot. Sea breezes find you in the sun and the shade.

Climb one more level and something shifts. The rooftop opens up at the very height of the palm trees — cool pale tiles, warm and soft underfoot in the sunshine. Colourful woven hammocks hang from a dark tropical hardwood pergola casting beautiful striped shadows across the deck. A built-in daybed bench with cushions runs along the wave-topped wall. The turquoise Caribbean stretches to the horizon in one direction; the inland lagoon shimmers in the other. Birds glide past at eye level. The sun rises directly out of the ocean every morning — right here, right in front of you. At night, the stars over the Caribbean are something you will not forget. This rooftop is the soul of Castaway Palms.
Upper suite guests enjoy full access to 120 feet of private Caribbean beach, the oceanfront pool with its hand-painted mermaid wave mural, outdoor shower, beach hammocks, loungers, chairs, and all water toys — kayaks, paddleboards, snorkel gear, boogie boards. Just 200 feet offshore: the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, second largest in the world. Warm, clear water shallow to about 6 feet just 50–80 feet from shore.
