Cabins In A Clearing has 3 primitive cabins, meaning no electricity and no running water on the cabin site, built in the woods and is also located in the Hocking Hills of Ohio (Walnut Cabin - Property # 2974863; Chestnut Cabin - Propty # 2974951 and Beech Cabin - Property # 2974931) There is a porch, fire ring and grill, heat is provided. Situated 13 miles from Old Man’s Cave. A queen bed with linens is provided in Walnut Cabin along with night stands, book shelves for clothes, etc., and a cafe table with chairs inside and a picnic table in the patio. You can eat at the fire ring on cross-section posts if you like. A water line delivers water to a stand pipe along the driveway in a common area accessible by all. A waterproof usb receptacle is close to and behind the water stand pipe making charging of devices easy. Swimming is not permitted in either of the two ponds. Catch and release fishing is permitted when the pond area is not otherwise being used. Each cabin can host 2 adults comfortably and cots without linens can be provided with an additional cost for up to two kids.
We have now added private shower stalls outside each cabin using water bags heated by the Sun. We tried them and on a 68 degree F day, three hours of direct sun produced heated water in excess of 105 degrees F, as hot as many home showers.
