« This is an excellent place to stay. It’s 4-5 miles out of town and is very quiet. Our stay was perfect! »

« Great location, but not quite as easy to walk downtown as it appears, since there no sidewalks and you are walking in the (very wide) streets. It’s small, but well appointed and very clean. Communication with the management was excellent. As a couple, we would definitely stay again. »

The highlight was waking up in the morning, drinking coffee on the back deck while watching the goats, alpacas and donkeys roam the backyard. « We had an amazing time in this beautiful house on the river. All the amenities made it so relaxing. We enjoyed the river, wildlife, the screened porch, hot tub, & fire pit. The kitchen was stocked with cookware and dishes and made it great to have our own meals. Everything was very clean except for the dishes. « WONDERFUL rustic cabin in a rural area of Texas Hill country. We stayed in the “German Chocolate” cabin for 4 nights during the solar eclipse and throughly enjoyed our stay. Easy 2 mile drive to Fredericksburg. Lovely baked goods waiting for us on our arrival, plus Sophie’s Bakery is right down the road where additional goodies are available! Would definitely stay here again! »

« Unfortunately, we were sick during our entire stay, so we never saw anything except the view from the cabin and one trip to a grocery store. The cabin was cute, and the listing does warn you there’s no WiFi. Hot water was iffy - we had it, but the first shower never got warmer than lukewarm if you wanted any water pressure, and then the second person had to wait before showering. « We did enjoy the house, location, and amenities. Bring your Kcups and enjoy coffee on the front porch. If you get caught in an evening rain, the gas fp offers a quick warm-up. All in all, very nice. Parking is on the street, but it’s a VERY wide street and quiet area. Only 1-1/2 blocks from the main downtown area. I knocked one star, because I think the toilet area of primary bath was missed in cleaning. A lot of long hair and dust in that area - not the case with the rest of the house....
