We were in the area for a music party at the George Winn Camp Ground so the cottage was mostly a place to sleep off the ground. However, the first encounter at the cottage was with Gavin as he stomped over to us and proceeded to pitch a fit because we had brought along a friend to the cottage to have dinner with us. He was not staying there. However, Gavin said that NO non-registered visitors were allowed on the property. WOW! I never saw that in the cottage information!! We then asked about swimming in the pool, an amenity listed on the reservation. Gavin said the pool was closed and again went into the whole tirade about our friend being on the property. The cottage was lovely but the hostile reaction on Gavin's part to our friend simply visiting with us was EXTREMELY off-putting and unprofessional. Someone needs to have a word with him about public relations techniques.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was a quiet, peaceful property. The cottage had everything we needed. We especially liked sitting on the front porch listening to the animals and enjoying the view.
The place was everything every other review said it was. Gavin & Jessica were amazing. We do wish the covid scare was over because the wife really wanted to use the pool. But they work hard at keeping the place looking great and operational, so it's understandable. All in all, the stay was fantastic and the wife and I plan to make it a yearly vacation
We had an amazing stay at the cottage! Gavin was super nice when we arrived. It was super clean, also. The animals were beautiful, and we enjoyed the trails.
The only thing i would add, is pot holders would be nice. We were there for 5 days, so we did a little cooking. Also a washer for those with an extended stay. No biggie though! I just like washing our clothes and not having to worry when we get home.
We did get zapped by the fence. We thought it was off during the day. Our fault though!
We hope to stay here again, when we come back to visit family. THANK YOU!
Quaint, lovely property but not comfortable seating for older people inside. Low seating in living room and no backs on the dining area. It gives it a clean line look for the small space. Nice big bathroom and bed was comfortable. Friendly host.
This little cottage is a perfect destination for anyone looking to recharge mentally. Walking property and trails is such a serene experience and then the cottage is like a warm hug waiting to greet you upon your return.
The grounds were beautifully maintained. The cottage was charming with well appointed decor, comfortable, bright, and supplied fully with all the homey appliances we needed to eat in.
If you want to get away from the hectic pace of life, cell phones, computers, etc, trade them all in for a weekend in this quiet pastoral setting, walk through the peaceful wooded trails and be enchanted by the distant sounds of farm animals. Our hosts, Gavin and Jessica, were kind and friendly and pretty much left us alone to enjoy their beautiful grounds. We can't wait to go back!
