Fairytale Drottningholm Palace on the island of Lovö is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and lies about 11 kilometers west of Stockholm city center. Dating from the 17th century, the palace is now the official residence of the Swedish Royal Family. In the picturesque, terraced park are bronze sculptures from Bohemia and Denmark, brought back as trophies of war. Be sure to take in the Chinese Pavilion which dates from the late 1700s. The 18th-century Palace Theatre is still used for performances during the summer months. In the Theatre Museum, you can see period stage costumes and stage scenery.

The City Hall is one of Stockholm's most iconic buildings and stars in countless images and postcards of the city. Dating from 1923, the hall opened on that most Swedish of dates Midsummer's Eve. Housed within are assembly rooms, offices, works of art, and the machinery of civil democracy. The prestigious annual Nobel Banquets are held here. Recipients dine first in Blå hallen and then move on to the formal ball in Gyllene salen, which has no less than 18 million mosaics adorning its walls. A particular treat is the chance to view the city from the famous tower.

While the hotel was fine, the subway was nearby, and I really enjoyed the breakfast, I had a room on the ground floor, close to the lobby. This resulted in me hearing a lot of noise coming from the lobby, and occassionaly a slamming door. I was a bit surprised this wasn't mentioned in the description ...

Verwacht beter op ammenities. Bv sauna, ontbreekt de zandloper/timer, geen hygrometer, geen voetbad, of stortbad om de experience, basic normaal te maken. Op kamer temperatuur regeling bewust ongedaan gemaakt gedaan, dus te koud overdag, savonds -> bar? en snachts middelmatig, (niet korl, ramen potdicht) ...
