Fabulous House with Stunning Sea Views to Skye. By NTS gardens. Great Privacy.

  • Staande boven Lochalsh op zijn eigen afgelegen terrein en omgeven door de bostuinen van National Trust for Scotland. Op het zuiden gelegen en in een prachtige omgeving met een prachtig uitzicht op zee en de bergen van Skye die oplopen tot meer dan 1000 meter. Hoewel het uiterst privé is, ligt het langs een eigen spoor van ongeveer 300 meter, het is slechts 3-4 minuten met de auto naar Kyle of Lochalsh met een treinstation (de schilderachtige spoorlijn naar Inverness is echt wereldberoemd!) een bank, winkels en een uitstekende supermarkt. Er is ook een kleinere supermarkt en een postkantoor op ongeveer 1,5 km afstand. Onze tuin heeft een groot gazon en is beplant met Magnolia's en volwassen soorten Rhododendrons uit Bhutan, China en Nepal en die bloeien van februari tot augustus.
    Dubbel glas met vaste tapijten overal; nachtopslagverwarming en hout- / kolenbranders; zowel dalend als direct elektrisch warm water. Als u contact wilt houden, bieden we gratis draadloze breedband WiFi. Het is een prachtige locatie met veel privacy.

A lovely 3 bedroom cottage with lots of original features. It is at the top of a narrow private driveway which we managed easily but it might be a bit tight for a large SUV or people carrier. All the amenities you need for a for a peaceful ,relaxing stay.

Das Haus ist alt, aber sehr sauber und gemütlich eingerichtet. Der Blick auf das Wasser und die Berge ist herrlich. Außerdem liegt das Haus strategisch günstig, um die Isle of Skye und die Highlands zu erkunden. Die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin war unkompliziert und immer schnell.

The view from this property was stunning!! This VRBO was clean and comfortable. We loved being tucked away from the city but still close to Kyle and all of the attractions in the area. We enjoyed many meals sitting at the table looking out over the water. Its a great place to get-away from it all.

What a beautiful place and great location. You cannot beat the stunning scenery and the wonderful fresh ocean air.The beds were so comfortable, house very clean and loads of privacy. It was a real oasis after touring and hiking the Isle of Skye. We would highly recommend this accommodation to others.

Wir haben uns vom ersten Augenblick in dieses wunderschöne Haus verliebt. Die Aussicht ist sensationell, die Zimmer sind liebevoll eingerichtet. Ein super Ausgangspunkt für alle Unternehmungen auf der Insle of Skye und Umgebung. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

This cottage was a bit tricky to find, in spite of the detailed directions given to us, but well worth the moments of confusion. The cottage is very quaint, comfortable and has a wonderful view of the inlet. We really appreciated the list of nearby attractions and restaurants.It was the perfect base for us to explore the surrounding area - especially the Isle of Skye.Anna was very helpful and responsive.

Stayed here 3 nights with my teenage son. Views were incredible, location was wonderful, and the house was very cozy. It is an older house with older facilities but there is a booklet that gives directions for everything and notes around the house to help as well. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting to visit Isle of Skye!

The house was very cozy and a great base for our adventures on Skye. We loved coming home to the sea views and Kyle of Lochalsh had all the amenities we needed. We did have a little trouble figuring out how to use some of the house’s appliances, but Anna answered our questions fairly quickly. The house charming but older, so expect some creaks when the wind is howling at night. Thanks for a lovely stay!

We found the house cosy and we liked it very much. Many nice excursions are possible in the area and there are also shops and restaurants nearby.

Beautiful Skye

It was the perfect place to stay. It is on Loch Alsh and has wonderful walking trails around the property. Close to Skye and Eilean Donan! We loved it!

Pros: The view is absolutely beautiful and is the highlight of this property. The house itself is charming and full of character, and the heater works well once you figure out how to use it. The property manager was also very responsive and quick to answer questions.Cons: The beds are quite old and uncomfortable. There was no laundry detergent provided, and the information booklet is several years out of date, making it less helpful than expected. We've traveled extensively throughout the UK and Europe and have come to appreciate the small kitchen conveniences many vacation rentals provide such as tea, coffee, cooking oil, and basic spices but none of these were available here. Overall: If you're looking for spectacular views and don't mind sacrificing some comfort and amenities, this property delivers. In our opinion, you're primarily paying for the incredible location and scenery.

Great location, very comfortable cottage! We were 2 couples staying and found it spacious and loved waking up and overlooking the water! Check in is simple, the cottage well equipped and there wasn't anything more we needed. Anna is excellent about communicating and has great suggestions. A short drive to the bridge to Isle of Skye as well!

Beautiful old cottage!

This was a wonderful place to stay in Balmacara, near Kyle of Lochalsh. The neighbors told us the history of the house. The area was wooded and quiet! I cannot recommend this place highly enough!

Traditional cottage

After a few issues with the heating (which were resolved by host quickly), we really enjoyed our stay in this traditional cottage. Warm, comfortable, spacious, good views to Skye, host very responsive and helpful.
