'The staff here were absolutely lovely! It's a very quaint inn, just as you might imagine an Inn in the Scottish countryside would be. The room was small but functional. 'On arrival we were ushered into an adjacent building with a very dilapidated exterior. The bland room resembled a student bedsit on the busy main road & had a bed without a headboard so pillows disappeared in the gap between the mattress and wall. The wall mirror is only suitable if you are over 6’ 6”! No window blinds, so privacy necessitated closing the blackout curtains & living in the dark. 'We enjoyed our stay very much. Pam was friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were excellent. We could see the sea from our bedroom window. It is a little far to the centre of town, so if you don't have a car, be prepared.'

'It’s a nice traditional hotel with friendly staff. Bedroom felt dated and there was no mini-fridge for the milk but bathroom had been modernised and was much better. Extensive Beautiful gardens in bloom with many flowers so it was very strange none of them had been cut for inside vases on tables - in the arrival lobby there are unattractive tired dried flower arrangements which don’t set the scene well! Nice touch to have morning coffee in warming pots and takeaway cups available in the lobby...

'This was my second time at the Albany, and I'll be sure to stay here next time I need to travel to St Andrews. The hotel is perfect for a single traveller: small and friendly, plenty of character, and a delicious, home-cooked breakfast to start off the day.'

'My second time staying. This time the sweet had a beautiful expanded and modern kitchen. However, virtually no dishes, pots or pans and no cutlery. Needless to say it was a beautiful kitchen, but not as much use except to keep things in the fridge. Manager should at least add some cutlery.'

'The staff were all very friendly and tried to be helpful. However when we arrived there was no one in reception and we had to wait 10 mins before someone turned up. When we arrived at our room which was large spacious and generally clean, there was no kettle to make tea. There was fecal material in the toilet bowl. Upon walking down two flights of stairs I was told to get hot water fro the coffee machine. Eventually a kettle was found. Evening meal basic but good. Breakfast poor overcooked...
