Great location, lots of room for improvement

Loved ground floor and close to the pool, but the unit has room for improvement. One paper thin beach towel. Weird showers, one is super small, the other has no door, so water spray goes all over the floor. Although there is an electronic door lock we weren’t given a code and had to use a key box and were only supplied one key. We asked for a second key and they did bring one to us. The furniture is sparse and only room for one to lounge in the living room, so in the evening one of us was on the lanai and one on the sofa. Also, every piece of furniture had glass on top of it, so it felt very sterile and cold. Compared to other units we’ve been in at Kamaole Sands this unit felt tired.

A very comfortable stay

The condo itself was very clean and comfortable (esp the bed) and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cooking utensils. Lots of beach gear available too. We had a glitch when trying to get into the condo as we were given a code for the unit but it didn't work on the door handle pad. We then realized the code was for the lock box for the key. Would've been helpful to have known this beforehand. Guest services were quick to respond to any questions and were very helpful. The larger property is beautiful and well maintained. Great pool and close to beaches. The lanai is a little small but nice for sitting. We would definitely stay here again.

15 year anniversary!

This place was perfect .. great location, well supplied kitchen as well as beach and pool items. All we had to do was shop for our food and that was easy with several store options. Would come again in a heart beat and rent the same location.

Great time had by all

The unit appears to have been remodeled recently. Firm mattress, newer furniture with updated baths and kitchen makes for wonderful experience on the ground floor of a 3-story condo complex. The presence of maintenance people by day and security at night kept any element of riff-raff (or homeless) away for a safe experience for kids and adults alike.

Spacious Maui Condo

Beautiful grounds, this condo was fully stocked with all that is needed for a stay. It was very apparent that the owners took pride in this condo and wanted to make sure guests had what they needed for a great vacation. Perfect for us!

Highly Recommend - Amazing stay!

This was our third stay at Kamaole Sands property and will continue to stay here as our preferred property in the future. Staff is friendly, attentive, and create a great experience. This condo specifically was everything we expected plus more.The unit supplied everything we needed in the kitchen including Tupperware for the beach, plenty of glassware, serving bowls, water containers etc. The beach gear was super convenient; 4 chairs, multiple umbrellas, coolers, noodles, and boogie boards. Location of the unit is perfect as a ground level directly across from the pool gate. The assigned parking stall is directly behind the unit (not the case for all units). Being a corner unit you do get a lot of folks walking by as they enter/leave the pool but that was a concern for us. Made it easy to people watch and chat with other guests. Overall great stay and will book this unit again

House Rules

The unit was clean and is in very good condition. The property is in a very good location. The check-in process and facilities were all drama-free. The unit, particularly the bedroom, is just off the parking lot and heavily traveled so not private or quiet. The House Rules - "don't use the nice towels" and "take out the garbage and do the dishes upon departure" when I'm paying for the cleaning service were off-putting. I own rental property on the Big Island and would never require that of my guests. The experience could have been worse but I have had better.

Nice reno, great location

We’ve stayed at the Kamaole Sands several time, but this was the first time in a ground floor unit. We really enjoyed the ground floor lanai and being able to spread out onto the lawn when friends came to visit. The unit is was very nicely renovated and well equipped. The split AC system worked well. The Murphy bed in the living room is so much more comfortable than the the hide-a-bed in most units. It’s is also easier to put away during the day. The location in the complex is handy to the pool and the parking. You are close to the path between buildings 3 & 5 though so there is some foot traffic. Overall a fantastic unit!

Great place for family vaca in paradise!

This ground floor unit was great for our family of 4 (2 adults and two kiddos 5.5yrs and 4yrs), it is steps away from the pool and just a short walk to K3 beach/beach park. The condo was in great shape, very young child friendly (they had kid books and plastic dish wear/cups, minimal breakable decor that was reachable for tiny hands), and was well stocked with all the kitchen supplies and beach gear we needed for our trip, it was a bonus to not have to rent any beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, or coolers during our stay. The ground floor unit was fantastic with kids, easy for them to get out and run in the grass directly from our lanai. We have stayed in 2 other units in this same condo and this was by far the most updated one and looked very beautiful and clean inside. I would definitely stay here again or recommend it for another family or couple (it is a 1 bedroom with a murphy bed in the living room).

Close to beach

We stayed at Kamaole Sands with two adults and two kids. The space was wonderful- the murphy bed was great for our girls and the master bedroom perfect for mom and dad- tho next time I may put the kids in the bedroom so I can make coffee and go out on the lanai in the morning without waking anyone up! And there WILL be a next time. Kamaole Sands had wonderful grounds, with a nice pool and spas, and it’s right across the road from Kamaole Beach III, so it’s easy to go over for the day or catch a sunset. It’s great for families or a couple. Also in a great location to walk to some shops or restaurants. This unit provided pool noodles, beach chairs, boogie boards, and umbrellas, as well as a few coolers. The only thing that would make it better is a wagon to carry everything across the street on those beach days, but it’s so close it’s not much of a trek if you have to carry it yourself. Easy to communicate with the property manager and easy check in. Highly recommend this place and will be looking at availability for the future!

Nice condo but issues with property management

The condo itself was clean, stocked and nice. Great location as well, and a nice view. However, beware that this property is managed by “my perfect stays”, not a direct owner. We had issues getting into the condo the first night, leaving us to rent a hotel last minute because no one was working their emergency line at 9pm on a Friday (LOL). It was a battle trying to get the proper assistance. My perfect stays ended up coming through, apologized for their mistake and refunded us for the night. Too bad we are still out a big chunk for the hotel. It was good on them to refund and apologize, but was a nightmare our first few days at this property. 5 stars for location and the condo itself, the management company is what brings it down to 3 stars.

Perfect Home Away from Home

We were so happy with the property. It was exactly what was advertised. The process of renting was beyond simple and felt really supported. The location is perfect on the property and in the town of Kihei. I have to say that the property was one of the reasons we had such a relaxing and comfortable stay. Really was a home away from home. All the supplies in the kitchen and the fun toys for the beach were all perfect. Beds were comfy, linens a plenty so really no complaints. If you want a great place to stay, look no further.

Kihei stay

Property had everything we could possibly need. Lots of care in the details here. Great location for families on the garden level and close to pool. Unit had all amenities for the beach and fully stocked kitchen. My single feedback would be a foldable wagon to bring beach goods and cooler down to the beach. That’s not any knock just a great addition our friends had with their unit.

Great ground floor unit!

We spent a week here and we were surprised at how quiet and convenient it was. This is a great unit for a couple with quick access to the grounds. It is very close to the pool but not noisy at all. Well situated to catch the evening breeze to cool off.

Great staying with family

I loved Kamaole Sands' programs and facilities. The pool was great for a young child. Our first-floor room was also perfect for them. I want to give five stars to the room itself. Everything was cozy. So, my boy denied going outside for a few days. He was just delighted in the nice air-conditioned room.

Perfect Family Location

This was a perfect spot for our family of 4 (kids age 4 & 6). The murphy bed was perfect for the kids. The kitchen had everything we needed for the week. We really enjoyed being able to walk out to the pool and beach. The Owner has some great gear to use at the beach so you don't need to pack your own chairs and sand toys. The communication from the management group was excellent. Easy to check-in / check-out. We will definitely consider staying again in the future.
