'This is an out-of-the-way gem (but easy to get to). Clean, and close to shore to hear waves crashing. Host was superb! Unit was smaller than expectation. Hard to use luggage rack and move around. Not so certainly about "see whales and dolphins" - but maybe it was wrong time of year. Checking and communication with host was great (5/5)!'

'The Host/Owner was very nice and responded to my callS. I paid for the unit because of the 2 bathrooms. Although there is a warning from the host/owner that nothing can be done about the normal activity such as footsteps. My family did not have a peaceful night because the person's footsteps are heavy and at 1030PM and 330AM, his footsteps going back and forth with tapping sounds for several minutes woke all of us up. 'The room was a superb find. Is not a new room; however is very comfortable, clean, spacious, close to everything and with lots of amenities. Its location is right in the middle of Downtown Historic Hilo. Close to the bus terminal which can take you the Volcanos Park and other locations of Hilo. 'We recently stayed at this property for several days and had a really nice experience. The check-in process was smooth for the most part, and the directions provided were clear. However, we were initially given the wrong gate code, which caused a bit of confusion. Thankfully, I was able to locate the correct code in the Vrbo listing and get us in without too much trouble.Once inside the property, we did have a little difficulty finding the actual unit. Great shower with never ending hot water.The oversized mini refrigerator was great to have keep my bag of ice for 2 day as I we used it in our cooler during the day and refreshed it in the freezer when we returned. Kept food & drinks chilled. Hot coffee pot was well used for making hot coffee and tea.Room could use a few more hooks to hand clothes and towel bars. Bed was too soft. Would prefer a firmer mattress'
