It was very quiet even though on the main road through town. the room was clean and comfortable at a good rate. The Oasis Diner on site is a plus. Good home cooking at great prices. « Don’t expect anything fancy and you’ll be fine. A young couple is working to make this place better and the motel deserves patronage while they upgrade it. Very nice, hardworking owners. My room was very clean and cute, also spacious and bright. The bed was comfortable and the tv worked perfectly. The motel is also conveniently located close to the interstate, with gas stations and restaurants very close. »

« The Second Story is a beautiful old home right on the main drag on the south end of Raton. Traffic was a little noisy at times but not much of a distraction. We had the entire second floor that has a sitting room with a great easterly view of the mountains and mesas that that made for wonderful sun and moon rises. Great little restaurants all over town, which you'll need because there is only a small refrigerator and coffee maker. We had a very nice stay and will be back at the Second Story...

« We loved staying here and know we will come again. Just a few suggestions: the cooktop was really dirty! The bathroom rugs didn’t look too clean, could use more towels and washcloths, the bath mat in the tub didn’t look too sanitary, there was a carton of eggs in the refrigerator that held empty shells that looked pretty gross. We loved the swing on the front porch, so quiet and peaceful. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you. »
