Vacation from Hell

This unit had mice which ate through several of our groceries and left droppings in the pots and pans drawer. We reported the issues with pictures the next morning to Vacasa who said they could only report the issue to the on-site office manager. Vacasa said they would provide status updates. We never heard back from Vacasa but there were indications someone had been in our unit four days later (and the day before our departure). Every night we could hear mice scurrying about and our three-year old is quite traumatized by the entire experience. On Sunday we tried to use the bathroom at the larger pool but the doors were locked (a gentleman called security who arrived and unlocked the door). On another day dog excrement was left on the floor of the pool gazebo (again a gentleman at the pool scooped it up and removed it). Even though this resort claimed to be pet-free there were several dogs including a few rather large ones that the owners clearly were having difficulty controlling on their leashes. Plus the noise of a few barking dogs was evident as we walked the grounds. However this noise was dwarfed by the constant roar of planes landing and taking off from the airport just up the street. Lastly we were unable to enjoy the open balcony because of cigarette smoke filtering in from people smoking on nearby balconies. Finally Vacasa feedback: multiple billing mistakes, a manager who lied about my cancellation policy, no issue resolution updates, and an impersonal AI chatbot.

Everything was great. I wish they would have told you in the listing you had to pay to park. I was not expecting to have to pay to park. Overall the house was clean and good.

Not for me

Old property with new decor and appliances. Close to the beach and has a decent indoor pool. Some things were broken others needed repair. Rust in places. Checkout time is early 10am. Customer service is useless. Overall I don’t think I got enough value for my money.

Quiet and peaceful

We loved this property! It’s tucked away and not your average crowded touristy beach. There was lots of wildlife which we loved. If you’re looking for soft sand etc this may not be the beach for you though. The grounds are very well kept and just beautiful. We would stay here again for sure! The only feedback I have is that sometimes the upstairs neighbors were very loud but I’m not sure if there is much anyone can do about that. Otherwise this was a great location and we enjoyed our family vacation to HHI for the first time! Very impressed!

this was a last minute booking— as the temps were forecasted to reach the mid 70s in february! what a sweet, lowkey, chill, perfectly appointed condo. less than 200 steps to the sandy beach. an absolute treasure of a rental. thankyou, Turnkey!

Great place by the beach

My family of 4 stayed here in mid October and very much enjoyed our stay. The place was clean, a few dust balls under the bed but that's nothing to complain about. I only know that because I was helping my kids look for things they lost. The room is close to the stairs which made getting up and down a little easier, less of a walk, and its very close to the beach, pool, and picnic tables where we used the BBQ a couple times. The house also has beach chairs and sand buckets which was great for the kids on the beach. The only complaint I have is the noise from the upstairs neighbors which I know the property has no control over. You can hear every single footstep through the ceiling which can be quite bothersome. Also, the property bleached the entire outside if the building during our stay which trapped us in the room for quite awhile one day until we could get their attention and run out through the bleach spray. The water was also coming in under the front door that we had to soak up with towels. I'm guessing this was an end of season cleaning type thing but some notice would have been nice so we could move our rental car out of the way and plan to be out of the room before they started. Aside from that, this was a very nice place to stay and we would stay here again.

Great Family Vacation

We stayed here during our family vacation and really enjoyed our time. The condo was in decent shape (several dirty/ broken areas), but overall it was nice. There were several board games which we had fun playing. And the location was exactly what we were looking for- very quiet and secluded but a nice beach.

Absolutely great!

First off I see reviews about noisy upstairs guest! They are but unfortunately the slightest movement is loud because the floors are old and thin so nothing you can do about it!! Didn't bother us at all, just roll with it!!! Beautiful condo!! Had a little mold on shower liner contacted the 24 hr line and it was replaced by 10am the next morning!! Couldn't be happier!! The one down side the beach it's not a regular tourist beach it's more a natural beach so be prepared. Also thousands of jelly fish washed up on beach not exaggerated!!! But again we loved our stay and fingers crossed we could get the same unit next year..

Really Nice Stay

I would say it was Very Nice, not perfect. I will say however, that the 'not perfect' was not the owners/rental co fault. The upstairs neighbors were slamming things around and arguing until 3 am some nights (not an every night occurrence, however wakes you from a dead sleep) and there was a pill found by my child somewhere in the 2nd bedroom. Fortunately he knew enough to bring it to me instead of thinking it was candy. Overall the unit was wonderful, with just 1 or 2 minor upgrades needed, but nothing that hindered our stay or made it unpleasant in any way. The porch chairs are comfortable for a normal person (depending on 'normal') but my 300 lbs couldn't sit in the chairs as the arms were too close together. Again, just an aesthetics thing I'm sure, nothing broken. The owners may want to replace the shower rods, as they were slightly loose and rusty (understandable with the sea water) and consider a shower head that can be taken off for easier removal of sand. Again, nothing broken, nothing wrong, just suggestions and preference. Otherwise excellent, and would def rent again.

Nice place.

Overall a good stay. The photos are very accurate. The cleaning had missed the out door patio for at least a couple of visits as evidenced by someone's 'spelling' test in the pollen on the table. There is also a squeak in the ceiling when the upstairs neighbors walk on it. Hopefully that will be fixed soon.

Very Nice Stay, Minor Problems

* Pros - This condo was clean and in a great location. Beds were comfy. We enjoyed our stay! * Cons - Not sure if the downstairs neighbor was a resident or vacationer, but they continuously banged on the ceiling in response to our 4 year old making foot noise. We kept her still during quiet hours, but this was even during the day. It’s hard to keep an excited 4 year old on vacation quiet and still. The neighbor’s bangs were very loud and frequent. The internet password didn’t work and despite prompt attention from rental company, a correct password was never provided. Dishwasher didn’t work, but issue was fixed promptly. * Listing inaccuracies - Indoor pool was closed. We assume because of covid and understand, but wish the listed would have mentioned. The weather on our trip wasn’t great, and we chose this location for the indoor pool. Pictures also show rugs that weren’t there. They would have helped with foot noise.
