1940's farm home that has been updated with modern amenities. Booked for the location to various springs, aesthetic of the home and property (e.g., oak tree canopy). The working ranch with young calves was a welcomed bonus.
Rat poop in the oven drawer - lots of it!
We travel with our own bedding - we did not use the comforters at the house - yet they claim we stained both comforters (we did not). They charged us for 2 new comforters. We even explained this to them and they said âaccidents happenâ and they actually âshamed usâ by saying we should have told them we stained the comforters. Maybe itâs rat feces that stained their comforters. These people are dishonest.
We arrived at the gate, looked down the driveway and knew we had found the PERFECT place for our Retirement Celebration Getaway!
The quaint, pale blue cottage was surrounded by age-old Live Oak trees decorated by Mother Nature with Spanish moss - and looked like giant protectors - dressed in lace.
All around the cottage were lush, verdant pastures, where cows grazed and welcomed us with friendly moos. Inside was as if we had stepped back in time - but with all the modern conveniences! The Owners had anticipated everything a guest could think of - from comfortable and tasteful furnishings to the fully-equipped kitchen to the extremely comfortable beds.
We loved the huge back porch - with 3 sides of windows and sliding glass doors - filled with sunshine. What a fantastic setting for our breakfast each day!
This cottage had it all - and MORE! Although I would love to keep this absolute Find of the Decade OUR little secret - it would be wrong for others not to be able to experience this magical cottage.
The Owners were extremely communicative and responsive to all of our questions and were SO easy to work with!!
It's a pity we can ONLY give it 5 Stars!! We can't wait to return next summer when we visit the Springs.
It was peaceful. The home was perfect, every thing we needed and it was close to Ginnie Springs and Prohibition Pizza which has some of the best pizza!
The house was very nicely remodeled to be cottage-like, with beautiful woodwork throughout. The property was private and shaded by mature oak trees. We enjoyed the home as well as its proximity to quaint High Springs and the nearby Ginnie Springs. Thanks!
