Check in was delayed not just for me but others because of cleaning crew (I guess). Which after a long drive is a bit frustrating. Staff at the desk was somewhat helpful but not totally so there was that. The condo was clean but could use some TLC and updating. Kitchen: okay. Blender was a struggle to get working, pots and pans,etc were stocked okay. There was only one kitchen towel and wash cloth and there was no dish washing soap. There was one detergent to use in the washer but there really needs to be dishwashing soap because everyone doesn’t run the dishwasher for just a few dishes. A plus was the coffee maker that also had a Kuriq K cup on it. Washer was extremely loud and that entire unit needs to be replaced. Bedrooms: okay. Furniture could use updating, mattresses were not the best and somewhat hard and the beds were squeaky even with just rolling over at night in them. Could use updating all the way around in bedrooms. nice fan in the master bedroom (needed to be dusted). Bathrooms were okay. Nothing fancy but everything worked fine. Location: lower floor condo right on the beach so that is a huge plus. Condo owner needs to provide beach chairs. It’s also within walking distance to multiple places to eat and shop. Location is the biggest thing for this place. While I am 50/50 if I’d ever stay at Island Winds East again, the price was good for beachfront and it wasn’t a bad place to stay - just needs a lot of love. And parking is very tight.
