We highly enjoyed our stay at Sandpiper. Was a very short walk to the beach. I was so excited about bringing my 7 yr old grandson wirh us. The house looked like a new house inside. The beds were AMAZING!! I don't think I have ever slept that good. Kitchen was well stocked as was the bathroon toiletries. I would highly recommend this cure house to anyone.

Love Fort Morgan

This was our 3rd time staying in Fort Morgan, and our 1st time ataying at The Sandpiper. Check in and communication was super easy, as they had texted me around a week prior and said to text with any questions. Which i did, and received reasonably timed responses. They gave me a code, address, and check in time. All of which went without a hitch. We arrived, entered the code, and began enjoying ourselves immediately. The house was very clean and had essentials like bath towels, complimentary soap, and even some welcome snacks! We stopped at the Walmart in Gulf shores to stock up on supplies before driving to Fort Morgan. (Highly recommended as the only close stores are 2 dollar generals, which come in handy). The beach was only like 3 houses away and you can have your toes in the sand in under 2 minutes from leaving the door. Fort Morgan always has a wonderful locals vibe. Being farther away from hotels keeps the beach uncrowded and relaxing. Only issue we had was that the house stated that it had cable. It had a cable box, but the only channels it received was home shopping network and local channels. Annoying but not a deal breaker as the wife and I brought a DVD player to watch shows in the evenings. All in all would highly recommend The Sandpiper for a relaxing beach getaway. Has room for plenty of people with its 3 bedrooms and pullout couch. Will definitely bring the kids back with us for a future visit!

Sandpiper

It was perfect for our family of five. No problems except not being able to work the tv’s. We communicated with the management company and they were very helpful. It was clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen is well stocked but the skillets are all small. That being said, there are several skillets. Not very many forks, that is probably the only thing the kitchen needs more of. There are baking pans, air fryer, crock pot, waffle iron, mixer and blender and all worked well. Make sure you bring dish and laundry supplies as there is only 1 load each of the soaps there. I also always bring extra kitchen towels as we go through them pretty fast. There are 2 kitchen towels and rags there. The beach wagon is great for going to the beach. We brought our own tent which was great. Bring chairs. It is very close to the beautiful beach and an easy walk!

Perfect for family and friend getaway

We enjoyed our time at the sandpiper! It was perfect for our families and was just a few minute walk to the beach! The outside area was probably our favorite! Perfect to relax, grill and hangout after a Long Beach day!

Great getaway

It is a great house very close to the beach. The downstairs was an additional area that was nice to sit and watch tv, read, and enjoy the outdoors. We would definitely stay again.

A Short Walk to the Beach

Perfect for quiet family beach trip

We were looking for quaint and quiet - Sandpiper nailed that. We had 3 adults and 2 small children (6&3) and the house was just the right size - I wouldn’t suggest too many more people than that. It was a close walk to the beach - the wagons provided by the property were perfect getting all our supplies out. And huge plus that the sand shower downstairs has hot and cold water! Fort Morgan is away from the hustle of Gulf Shores and Orange beach, but close enough to get to the action…

Happy at Sandpiper

We had a wonderful week at Sandpiper. Truly enjoyed hanging out below in the swing in the evenings. The beds were all very comfortable and the entire house was accommodating. It was perfect for our family!

Family vacation

The pros: so close to the beach. Beautiful neighborhood. Quiet. Lots of beach equipment to borrow. The downstairs area was great for family. Naps on the swing were wonderful. We noticed sheriffs patrol here and there which is reassuring. The cons: if a property is listed as sleeping 10, there should be more than 6 towels and the water heater should be big enough to fill more than half the bathtub with lukewarm water. I specifically asked if there were bed linens for the trundle bed and pullout sofa, the management company replied that there were. When we arrived there was a twin fitted sheet for the trundle. No top sheet, no blanket, and nothing for the pullout sofa. I texted the property management company back and they never responded until it was time to remind me about all the checkout rules. I understand it’s a beach house, but we were not expecting sand all in the pullout sofa. The house was not very child friendly. The front door in the living room didn’t lock from the inside and our tiny human loved the freedom of being able to open the door himself. We weren’t as pleased that he could bolt put the door whenever he wanted. The charcoal grill was tiny, we didn’t even bother using it.

Spring break early in March

It was a nice place to stay but I would recommend it for only 5-7 people. The trundle and the sofa bed didn't have a cover, only a sheet. There were some cold nights on our stay so it would have been nice to have those covers. When we open the sofa bed, the mattress cover looked dirty so we decided to have the person sleep on the sofa instead. When we first walked in, there was a dead cockroach by the sofa that I quickly got rid of before the rest of the family walked in. I didn't see any other thank goodness. We had to buy a bucket in order to mop because there was nothing on the property that we could use. The communication with the property manager was great and quick via text. That was so convenient. We did have a plumbing issue and they took care of it right away. We didn't have any issues after everyone was told not to flush toilet paper. Something else that was convenient was the keypad. It was great to be able to check-in and out. The keypad to downstairs storage was not working properly and I didn't know that until we were putting things back into the storage. It was nice that they had bikes and boards there available. It was clean but it felt like no one had been there in a while so we definitely did our own cleaning the next day and we swept and mopped very thoroughly the last night. I noticed that the fan that was on the dresser in the bunk bed room was very dirty. I didn't notice it until the last day when I turned it off before we left. If I had seen that I would have gotten a swifter. Overall, I would recommend it to anyone.

Very much enjoyed the house. More attention could be given to cleaning light fixtures, washing windows (I washed some of the windows to enjoy the view) and lighting around the outside staircase.

This location is perfect but the home needs some TLC.

We couldn’t have had a better time in Fort Morgan. We were looking for a relatively safe place to take a vacation during the pandemic and Fort Morgan after Labor Day checked all our boxes. This home is a 1 minute walk to the beach. The location is perfect. That being said, the home needs some maintenance. The laminate flooring is gapping, bowed, and coming up in places. There are gaps around the perimeter of each room which just become sand traps. It definitely does not appear to be professionally laid. The dishwasher wasn’t installed correctly (missing screws into the cabinet frame) which caused it to fall and hit a houseguest more than once. Just so grateful it didn’t hit my child. The drains didn’t drain well so showers quickly became baths. The railing on the stairs is loose. For the price this rental charges, I honestly expected more. The management company was quick in their responses and seemed good to work with.

Close to the beach!

The property was in a quiet neighborhood and very close to the beach. If you are a family that enjoys cooking, this is the place for you. If you would rather go out to eat, it’s a good 30 minute drive to restaurants. Our favorite part of the house was the outdoor shower and patio area! There’s only one thing that we should’ve brought and that would be bed sheets for every bed. The sheets were very low quality so make sure to pack your own if this is a deal breaker for you. Otherwise, it was the perfect place for our family vacation!

Beach vacation

We were really excited about our first out-of-house vacation and were optimistic that this was the perfect house for us. We loved the location and beach access was easy. We also liked that the houses gave us kind of a neighborhood while there--people were friendly and helpful. Our only real complaint was the cleanliness of the entire house and with the covid pandemic deep clean that we were expecting but had not happened. Furniture was dusty such as behind the lamps and on shelves. Under beds and behind furniture there were clumps of dust bunnies. The refrigerator door handle was grimy all in the textured part--we scrubbed it and it came off. There was a very lonely sock dropped down between the washer and dryer and a gob of lint in the dryer lint trap. The outside table had clear coffee rings on it which, of course, with a clean swipe they came up. There were holes in the walls and smudges on the walls and door facings. One of the knobs in the kids' room dresser was missing. there was a broken vacuum cleaner in one of the closets but we accidentally found another one in another closet that worked. The kitchen utensils and pots and pans and other tools were plentiful and fine but the organization was ridiculous with things stuffed everywhere.
