If you truly want to get away from it all, Casetta Busecchio is your answer. A charmingly updated farm cottage at the end of a private unpaved road, it conjures a special magic: while you may well not see anyone else in the immediate environs after being greeted by the caretaker, it is not uncommon to see wild deer and wild boar at the edge of the garden. Tucked into a wooded hillside, the land falls away from the main, terraced side of the house, offering views of Chianti’s heartland. Tranquility is the watchword of this property.

With white-washed walls, the contemporary interior is thoughtfully and simply styled, striking a light, young note. Outside, a large stone terrace overlooks a rustic garden. A round private pool at the lower level with a furnished stone terrace and shady pergola is a lovely spot for cooling dips. While Florence, Siena and San Gimignano are all within excellent reach for day trips, the nearby smaller towns of Greve, Panzano, Figline Valdarno and Radda have much to offer. Or, forget about driving anywhere, and set out on one of several walks straight from your front door.



The first floor is accessed by external steps. There is no central heating, but you are welcome to use logs from the villa’s shed for the wood burner at no extra charge.
