Om Home - Oregon Beach Vacations

Om Home is located in Gleneden Beach, a short five-minute drive south of Lincoln City. This vacation home sits on a high bank overlooking the gorgeous Pacific Ocean. The owners have taken extra care to ensure their guests feel at home while visiting their vacation home. There are many west-facing windows to help you enjoy the wonderful view from almost every area of the home. Enter the home from the ground floor and laundry room area, where you'll take the stairs up to the second level. You will find a large guest room with a queen bed and a sofa sleeper on this level. There is also a sitting area to relax and read a book or catch up with an old friend. There is also a room with a futon. Both bedrooms on this level have their own sliding door out onto the deck, where your guests can appreciate nature's beauty. There is also a bathroom on this level with a walk-in shower. Going up one more level to the top floor, you will find the main living area, which includes the kitchen, dining area, and living room. There is also a smaller deck on this level to let you see out farther and appreciate the calmness of the area. The primary suite with a king bed is on this third floor. The full bath has an ADA shower. This rental offers cable TV, a DVD player with a selection of movies, books, binoculars, and Wi-Fi for those who need to stay in touch. Beach access is about a block south of the home. There is no direct beach access from the home, which is on a cliff, and guests are asked not to cross the fence for their safety. You are only a short drive to Lincoln City if you want to do some shopping, whether it be for gifts, antiques, candy, or to check out the outlet mall. If you are in the mood to go out and eat, there are many restaurants available along the coast to please everyone in your group. If you have kids vacationing with you, it's a short 25-minute drive south to Newport, where you can go to Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum, the Hatfield Marine Science Center, or the Oregon Coast Aquarium. We had a great time at this house because our family got to enjoy time together. The oceanfront location of the house and the views were amazing! The layout of the house is a little different but actually really cool. The kitchen was well-stocked. The cleanliness of the house was not the best, there were no blankets, i.e. on the beds or in the closets - the beds had sheets and bedspreads/comforters, no blankets. The house contained bizarre statues the looked like pagan gods/animals and we had to cover them up because they were disgusting. The house itself is great but the decor, the exterior and the floors could really use some attention.

Great place to stay

A very nice location. Up on a hill overlooking the beach and ocean. Access to the beach is a couple of blocks walk with an interesting mini cliff that you have to negotiate or you go further down the beach to have an easier climbup/down. The house would be great for a multi family or couple.

Our Wedding Anniversary Getaway

The views of the Ocean were great. This house realistically has two bedrooms and a large sleeping area open to common space. It was awesome for us, our infant, and our dogs. I think it could be a great spot for two couples or a group of people who don't mind sharing the same sleeping space. The ADA shower was very useful for washing our baby. There are no staircase barriers at the property so keep an eye on kids who have falling down the stairs capability. We would definitely stay there again.

Wheelchair Accessible Stay

This was a great property for our stay! My husband is wheelchair bound and having the elevator to help him get up and down the different floors was amazing. We will definitely be returning. I do recommend that they update the check in lock system for the front door. The code did not work. There was also a leak in the skylight in the living room, but nothing that they can’t fix overall this was a great stay and I highly recommend it, thank you!!!!

Not as advertised - huge thumbs down

We planned a last ‘hurrah’ family get together for our mother who is not in good health and wheelchair bound. Welllll the house was listed as ‘ wheelchair accessible and with elevator ’. Absolutely not. Initially we could not even get in the house because the lock box wouldn’t open — my BIL managed to get in the house because someone left a door OPEN. And the bottom floor to access the house had two flights of stairs to a bathroom and three flights of stairs before you were on living quarters We HAD TO CARRY HER. 3 flights of stairs. The elevator didn’t work. It was out of service (but didn’t say that in the post we saw). The rest of the doors were all locked. NEVER GOT A KEY out of the box. I called the property management and was not impressed. Furthermore, the smoke detectors in the second floor didn’t have batteries. And half the light switches are not working or broken. There is no backyard. It’s sloughed off in a landslide. I stopped looking after that. We were stuck on one floor with a disabled person and had family the literally flown from NY for this week. IF IT HAD NOT BEEN for the property mngmt lady hustling her butt off to make things right -this would be much more HARSH. She put us up next morning in the Pirates Cove near Depoe Bay and life is great. No charge for an upgrade and WOW !! Wonderful house. Mom is camped out watching the sea and the whales and we can finish our week. I pray this is the last good memory she has and so glad we could salvage this !!

Elevator Was Amazing!!

With 2 handicap adults and the kitchen on the 3rd floor,having an indoor elevator was so nice, view was 5 stars, the erosion on the 50’ cliff in backyard is substantial and hopefully the house will still be there in a couple years..? Small maintenance issues, wheels missing on dishwasher rack, 2nd floor toilet handle sticks, yard had lots of stickers and weeds, 1 kitchen chair was very wobbly, walking score is a 2, very narrow roads with steep inclines, driving to public access beaches a must but was less than a mile. All 5 of us adults ranging from 96 yrs old to 48 years old had a very relaxing time and the house met everyone’s needs, hope to stay here again next year!

What a lovely view! We enjoyed the home and since Mom uses a walker, really loved the elevator so that she could easily move from floor to floor. Great open floor plan for games, puzzles and visiting. We had a challenge with move in but that was resolved to our satisfaction.

The house was perfect for our family and we all had fun. The backyard was now the same as in the pictures though, it was tiny and there was no space for my kids to play. Another thing was that there was sand on the inside, I get that it’s a beach house but still a quick vacuum would of been nice.. Overall it’s a great house with beautiful views

The view here is fantastic, however there are many issues with the property. Beach access is described as across the street, it is 3/4 of a mile down the road. It is also described as having two twin beds. It does not. The decor is jaded and needs a facelift. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.

Schorzman stay at Gleneden Beach!

Your directions were spot on, check-in was easy once I remembered the star at the end! House was clean and ready for us. Easy walk to beach access. Very cool views from the deck and main floor. Very easy to come back to the house and hang out from day at the beach or to Lincoln City or Depot Bay. Our family had a fantastic time and my girls 6 & 9 are already planning another trip! Very well done and very well accepted! Will use Vrbo again for our next Oregon beach trip, which I have been informed will be a yearly trip or sooner!

Great views from 3rd floor. Beach access a few blocks away. No RV parking.

The view from the 3rd floor living space is amazing, as the house is about 80 feet above sea level. Two of the three bedrooms are huge. Beds and furniture were comfortable, and the house had everything we needed. There is an elevator so you don't have to haul your things up steps. The listing said beach access was "across the street," but it is actually about 1/3 mile away and down a fairly steep slope. So be prepared if hauling kids and their things. Also, the listing did not say anything about parking, other than that it was available. When we were told we could not park our RV at the rental, the property manager told us we could leave the RV at a grocery store lot about 3 miles away. We called the grocery store to confirm, and the manager said they had no such arrangement with any properties. He was kind enough to let us park there anyway (and accepted no payment), since we checked in with him ahead of time. Had we not made prior arrangements, the store manager said he would have had our RV towed as abandoned. Maybe it was implied that I would need to check in with the grocery store, but the property management company did not mention it on the phone.

60th Birthday Celebration

We had the best view of the ocean! The rental was clean, the elevator was great for one with bad knees, the kitchen accommodated all that we needed. We truly made ourselves at home!
