Couch was really dirty . Dog hair all over the futon. Mold and mildew smell all over the house . Upon leaving the house we cleaned the whole house . The person who came to clean the house was rude , gave an attitude about check out process .
The house is a cobbled on cottage with many obvious additions. There is a dire lack of outlets and many extension cords needed to charge anything. It was generally comfortable with several seating areas and the beds were also good with clean sheets. We threw a sheet over the dirty couch in the living room and that helped a lot. Overall it was a great location, and if you could adjust to the extension cords it was a good place to set up base.
Letâs just start with- overall the house served its purpose. We had a roof over our heads for the 4 days we were in town. There were some oddities about this place that I will list below.
Negatives
This is not an air conditioned house. It has 1 window unit in the kitchen. The house was 89 deg upon our arrival and took two days to even get to 79 deg. You must run the dehumidifier constantly and empty the bucket multiple times a day. There are fans in every room but not outlets in every room so there are extension cables running everywhere.
There is no hot water. For dishes, laundry or showering.
The âdog runâ out back is overgrown with 4+ feet of weeds
The house/furniture overall is old. Lots of stains.
Found some âsplatterâ âspillâ areas that the cleaners had missed but wasnât too bad.
The TVs all run on Roku but there isnât a Roku controller for each tv so some TVs were inoperable.
Positives
Laundry on site
Quiet neighborhood
Full kitchen with provided dishes
Lots of bed options. The futons were super comfortable.
Provided linens and soaps
Again overall it did its job but there is definitely room for improvement.
The home was in a great location and well stocked. However several of the listed amenities were unusable and that was disappointing. All of the fabric furniture was heavily stained and pretty gross, so much so that my kids preferred to sit on wooden kitchen chairs over the futons or sofas. The area advertised as a fenced in dog yard was completely overgrown with waist-high weeds and not usable. There was a dehumidifier running to help with the mustiness of the lower level (where the bedrooms are) but the cord runs across the stairs and is a bit of a hazard.
Overall, the location was great but the home itself was just fine.
From the start it was amazing. Check i was easy. The house was beautiful and clean. They had everything we needed. Everyone had a great time. Looking forward to staying next year.
Immaculate but Basement Musty Bedrooms and Old Mattresses
The home was really close to Story Land which was our primary destination. Easy check in and access. The home was immaculate. The kitchen had updated appliances and the bathrooms were recently updated.
However, the bedrooms were basically in the Basement and both had a strong musty and moldy smell to them. All the mattresses were super old and had and âegg-crate/foam layerâ on top to cover up how old the mattresses were. Having bad allergies to mold and dust, I woke up the first morning to a sever sinus headache and feeling awful. For the rest of our stay, my daughter and I slept on the pull out sofa in the addition back room and my traveling companion slept on the pull out futon in the living room. I was thankful I brought extra bedding with me.
What a great place for a larger family, everything we needed was there, and location was where we wanted to be, near N.Conway yet tucked in the White Mountains! We stayed memorial week, Iâm sure the winter months would be amazing to stay there too!
We had 6 adults and 6 kids in this house for our storyland weekend away. This house held us all comfortably! Pros: plenty of space! Fully stocked kitchen. Very cute cabin feel. Cons: the pullout couch bed in the add on room was very uncomfortable and we could not find bedding to fit that bed. The downstairs bedrooms were freezing the first night and then dreadfully hot the second night.
Overall we had a great time and would definitely stay here again.
Excellent location for a ski weekend just a few minutes up the road from Attitash. Well kept, fun chalet style with lots of sleeping options for family/friends. Really seamless check in/out experience communication-wise. Spaghetti Shed was a nice take out option walking distance and Cabin Fever was a fun rustic spot for dinner nearby.
Will definitely consider it again.
Had a great time at this lovely home! Close to everything, clean and fully stocked! We loved that we were able to bring our family pet. Highly recommend!
This is a well-appointed and comfortable little place that sleeps a huge number of people close to Attitash. There were plenty of games and diversions to keep our 6 y/o occupied after the slopes. Also convenient to restaurants in North Conway. A local point of contact reached out upon arrival for any issues, but we didn't need to use it. No complaints; however we were not able to find the fire pit. Maybe that's a summer-only amenity. Also, if you're going to use the washer, you might have to remember to turn on the water to the washer first. :-)
Less than 8 minutes from Attitash and 20 minutes to Wildcat, we had a great time mixing up our ski destinations. We also went tubing at King Pines (a little over 30 minutes away). The house was clean, comfortable and easy for everyone to have some space. Close to restaurants and shopping, too!
The location is perfect!! A short drive into town for all the area has to offer. One small problem with the stove, but the Property Manager and girls in the office handled it perfectly. We are looking forward to our next adventure to the Birchwood by the Saco!
Nice place and hidden gem to stay at. I will say the internet had some issues. The whole house doesn't have AC. They should definitely put that in there. But overall nice place to stay. Plenty of pots and pans.
Nestled behind the covered bridge gift shoppe is a spectacular neighborhood find! The house was just what we needed, with a lot of little things included. We spent a lot of time in the back deck enjoying the quiet open air in front of the fire pit. There is an association beach that is a 1/2 mile walk down the road. You can drive your car down and park on the side. The beach in the river was perfect.
There was enough space for everyone to spread out, but also eat in the same area. We would definitely rent here again! Enjoy the rest of summer!
Nice location and comfortable place in the White Mountains of Conway
It was a very easy process. Where do I submit things that I noticed were loose in case they need to fix in the future and you guys are not aware? Speaking to the property manager question does not apply. We never spoke to them at all.
Loved our stay on Covered Bridge Lane! The house was in a great location close to town and all local amenities. We brought our dog with us and took many walks around the beautiful neighborhood. It was a great place to stay for a nice peaceful relaxing getaway. We even got lucky with the weather and weâre able to enjoy reading a book on the deck. We would stay here again!
The house was in a very cute and quiet neighborhood. Plenty of space in the home. Roku and WiFi available. Unfortunately there was no gas in the grill and I wouldnât call a kennel a fenced in yard. Also, I believe the cleaners could have done better but Iâm also a very clean and picky person.
