The location is perfectly situated to walk around the square and visit shops or a head into a restaurant for a bite to eat. Quiet location for us is key and this was it. Friendly neighbors too. « Sutton House is beautiful, clean, spacious, and well stocked. The owners, Tina and Bob, are kind and generous. Ironton is walkable and filled with Sears bungalows, interesting shops, Checos Mexican restaurant, and Arcadia Coffee Shop. There is a Civil War plaque and history on the Courthouse Square and at Pilot's Knob. The hiking and state parks (Elephant Rock, Taum Sauk, Hawn, the Scour, Johnson Shut-Ins) are scenic and well-marked. We enjoyed the Spring like weather, the flowers and trees...
