6/10 Satisfaisant

The Riverview house was very clean; however, somewhat dated - sort of a mishmash of improvements, with nice appliances, but old and cheap cabinets. Something should be done about heat. There is a mini split in the living room and master bedroom, but nothing in the back bedrooms. The tiny little space heaters placed in the back bedrooms can’t be used at the same time, as they will trip a circuit, as we found out. We froze the first night. Management should turn on the heat in the morning before visitors arrive, as it took about a full day on high heat for the mini split to warm up the place. The back bedroom in the southeast corner is sadly in need of a new mattress. It was very bouncy but hard on the top, with definite sags on the side. The little details were missing– like coffee or tea, Kleenex in the bathroom, or a little welcome gift so show that they are actually glad we are paying over 360/night to stay there. Overall, the place was nothing fancy but adequate. C grade because it was clean and had the basics. Not sure it was worth the B price. The communication with the management company was adequate over the VRBO website. Not sure who the “hosts” are. Helpful note to visitors in early January: Many of the restaurants close down after the first week of the year to “charge their batteries” or whatever, so sadly most of the fish restaurants were closed. Fortunately Noyo Fish Company was open and delicious for fish and chips.
