Getting there after sunset posed a challenge as there were no external lights on the building and gps took us to Main Street when driveway/parking were off one street east. When the code didnât work, I was able to call the service number n the paperwork I remembered to bring with me. Twenty minutes late we had a new in with a new code. All was as described - small, clean, cozy, and within walking distance of everything we needed. It was a great location to base out of for our first visit to Door County. cozy
The address of this property was "Main St", which we were familiar with & thought would be a nice location with activity. There wasn't a building on Main St with this house #. The directions said you would get into the property from the street in the back. There was no # of any kind on the cottages in the back, so we went strictly by the picture. Our siteline didn't include Main St at all, & we had a view of a parking lot. Parking was convenient. When you opened the door you walked directly into the tiny kitchen. The first thing you saw when you opened the door was a refrigerator which was banged up Not a great 1st impression. The place was extremely clean, and furnishings were fine. We had trouble with the TV - all streaming. We called the number provided for assistance and spoke to a nice woman. She asked for our location and she couldn't find "Old Fashioned" anywhere. She apologized and said she'd keep looking for it. We did hear back the next day by text, but weren't home to reply. This place was very small but adequate for our needs. We were surprised that a rental service didn't do a better job of identifying the property and almost felt like it was misrepresented because of the "Main St." address. The cottage was in the lower price range of available places when we booked. Even with that, we were disappointed with the location and lack of response. I also texted to request the check in info the day before our stay as we hadn't yet rec"d it.
A nice place very close to Main Street. We did not cook but the kitchen seemed well equipped to do what you would need. We never to find the Wi-fi password. Will book again when needed.
The house was exactly as listed. The host responded quickly to questions, and check in/checkout instructions were clear.
The location is amazing! Walkable to all that fish creek has to offer.
Definitely read the check in instructions ahead of time, since the address brings you to Main Street, but the access to park/get into the cottage is the road behind it. Still can walk down the path right to Main Street! The cottage was tiny (as expected) but clean and thoughtful. Definitely recommend for a couple looking for a quick weekend getaway!
I didnt get clear instructions regarding which building i was running until after i attempted to enter the incorrect building and had to call the property manager. As it turned out there were three buildings at the same address, and they were able to provided directions when they returned my call.
The only downfall was the fire alarm went off at 4am the first night, and wasnât able to be changed until 4pm that afternoon. So kind of ruined the first night and second day.
