Cottages in Eastland

'My partner, sister and myself had an amazingly relaxing stay at the cottage. Our favourite spot was the back deck. There is beautiful view across the river to paddocks with cows grazing, and the sound of the river running below. Our thanks to John for a wonderful stay. '

'Beautiful house in a beautiful rural setting, so peaceful, we were sorry it was only one night. Outdoor shower is a must. Sally and Simon were superb hosts, super helpful and friendly. Sally's homemade treat was very much appreciated and we had a lovely walk around the farm, meeting the lovely dogs. Would highly recommend staying at this piece of paradise.'

'This is a true old style Kiwi bach, a bit scruffy and well worn/used. But that is its beauty and authenticity. Staying by the beach in a more remote part of Aotearoa, I do not want a super-swish, Auckland style apartment. The area is stunningly beautiful, especially Whanarua Bay itself. But there seem to be undertones of local conflict over who can fish, how and where. So be careful and sensitive.'
