« We extended our stay by 2 nights and needed a place to stay. The Mermaid worked out fine for us (could use a new mattress) and the view was amazing! The owner was great and very easy to work with and replied to us right away. We did not enjoy the ride to get up there, but we were warned about it in the description. You do need an SUV to travel up there. Thanks for the stay! »

« When I arrived the owner came out and showed me exactly where to go. The apartment was small but just what I needed. It was clean, smelled nice, and I appreciate the nice touch of having gentle music and scenery on the TV monitor. Great stay. A couple of unexpected, but friendly dogs were nearby, eager for a pat on the head. All good! »

« What an absolutely beautiful view and great location on the Island. Communication was amazing. Hosts informed us of the exterior upgrades which were not an issue. This place is so well thought out and conveniently stocked. We appreciated having the beach, chairs and ice chest. Everything was clean and in good shape. We wanted to explore the Island and found this location to be right in the middle of everything. I hope to stay here again someday. »

« Very out of the way remote stay, extremely small accommodations, the bed is a converted couch, although clean, air conditioning keeps the room a little cool, the road in is not for the faint hearted, not easy to say the least, property is very old, bathroom light is a pull chain, property says breakfast included, that means you get cereal and milk in your refrigerator, not a sit down meal like all other places! « stayed 11 days Feb '26. This is a condo complex. Upon arrival the complex appears dated/tired and the grass was tall. A crew did show to get the landscaping back into shape. Located off a main road and centrally located. Can get to most parts of the island within a 35 minute drive. 5 minutes down the street is a grocery store, another 5 minutes to popular La Reine Chicken Shack. « We loved our stay in the Villa Tortuga. On our last full day we decided that staying on the deck and in the hot tub with the heater off was a better choice than heading to another beach! Someone should advise the landlord that Jets #2 were not functioning and were coming on but then kicking off right away, which to me an old CPO would indicate a faulty electrical connection or a compromised pump which should be addressed ASAP for safety reasons.
