« A luxurious camping experience with running hot water, electricity, and use of a washer/dryer. Not many places to eat around and the closest "grocery store" is very expensive (12 for a gallon of milk). Make sure you plan ahead and bring mosquito repellent!! »

« We loved this property and would stay here again! It was just as described. It's in a quiet residential area and is a perfect getaway spot with good privacy. It has lots of windows (especially the large ones in the bedroom), that look out on the lush rainforest. We loved hearing the frogs at night! The bed was extremely comfortable. « This is a gem of an Inn with the beach minutes away, so close that you can hear the waves! The property was clean and we had a balcony to sip our coffees in the morning. The location is excellent with the Hilo airport only about 30 minutes away and volcanos national park about 45 minutes. Andy was a great communicative host who gave us awesome recommendations of local places to see. »

« We were looking for a place to stay for the night outside of Hilo while exploring that side of the island. This little cottage is clean, spacious and directly across the road from a beautiful, secluded black sand beach. It was magical! We would absolutely stay here again and enjoy it for a longer stay. « The Kamaka Cottage is in a great location, close to the National Park so when the volcano goes off you are right there. Host were great wasn’t communicate with. Cottage was clean and cozy. The best part was the doors that opened up into the forest. You could smell the fragrance of the forest , hear the birds singing and the rain coming down. We will definitely return in the future. »
