My husband, dog and mother in law visited for a few nights. It was wonderful to be able to paddle to the three sisters. We saw more than manatees as well! It was so peaceful to wake up and have coffee outside!
Lots of amenities like bikes, kayaks, fishing poles. Nice to have coffee pods, detergent, soap and shampoo. Fishing off the dock in the backyard. Kayak launch.
This gem has everything you could possibly need. Great neighborhood, great kayaks and a kayak launch that makes it so easy. Three Sisters Springs is a less than 45 min kayak even for our very inexperienced group. The kayaks were just upgraded to sit on top ones. The fire pit and back yard are great for relaxing. The host, Vicki, was very responsive. This place is even better than the pictures.
Excellent stay; however washer and dryer needs to either be repaired or replaced. Also a crock pot would have been nice. Other than that, we had a wonderful time. Plenty of things to do in the area. We even had a manatee with her baby in our canal!
This was a dreamy getaway. The location was great & the access to the river straigh from the back yard was phenomenal! We enjoyed fishing off the dock, kayaking daily & toasting smores at the end of the day! A really relaxing stay. Thank you for being great communicators both on the run aduring. We ypu to ewanting t
My daughter and I had a wonderful pre-Christmas getaway trip to go finishing and snorkeling with manatees. The kayaks were a nice added bonus. We took them out multiple times. Host was very communicative and accommodating. Thank you Vickie, we had a great time!
Our original VRBO suffered a flood a week before we came and finding this place was a dream! It's so cute and while being close to everything you need, it's in a spectacular natural area. The duplex is private and we'll set up, super clean. We used the kayaks to head straighte out from the house to explore. Excellent communication, excellent home and location, 10/10 recommend and would stay again.
A lovely property. Far better than staying in a hotel. Use of the on site kayaks to explore the area is an added bonus. I would certainly try and book again when I return to Crystal River
What a way to celebrate! About a mile to everything, including by kayak. Cute place really nicely decorated. Looks just like pics! Everything you need, Vicki has available. She is also quick to respond with any questions you may have. We had a great time at this property and highly recommend!
This was a delayed 25th Anniversary trip for my husband and I. We are avid kayakers and live in the NGA mtns, near a lake we often kayak.
1. This cottage (a duplex that feels ultra private), was clean, cozy, and comfortable! The king bed is comfy and the pillows are fabulous. The shower has fantastic pressure and the water gets plenty hot enough. We didnât cook much, still kitchen had everything we needed. The host left us two bottles of cold water, which was appreciated since it was hot when we arrived. Great AC, and cozy living area for evenings just watching TV.
2. The kayak launch was EVERYTHING! So easy to get in and out, we kayaked every day. The kayaks are good quality and track well in the bay (even if itâs choppy water). We didnât use the fire pit due to afternoon & evening rain but the backyard is adorable and fun!
3. The area and proximity to the bay was ideal! Itâs a SHORT paddle to the mouth of the canal and the bay. If I had to guess, itâs less than 3/10th of a mile. We explored a lot. We saw a little gator, a bazillion jumping mullet, a big alligator garr, sheepshead fish, tons of birds (idk about birds but at least 15 different species), and we saw manatees. One in the same canal, and three or four from a distance and on our last day, two right under the kayaks in the bay.
You can paddle all the way to Three Sisters (which we fully recommend) in great weather it will take about 35 minutes - it was windy for us so it took 45.
Vicki is a fantastic host!
We absolutely loved staying at Key Lime Cottage! Communication with Vicki was great! She sent over a pdf of reccomendations for things to do and places to see which was wonderful! The house was clean and everything looked brand new. The kitchen was well stocked for when we wanted to cook. There were games and beach towels in the closet which was a pleasent surprise! We enjoyed the backyard and canal every day. We got to see an alligator and a manatee jn the canal. My daughter enjoyed spotting different animals. Having the kayaks was such a great experience. We enjoyed taking them out for a paddle and I appreciated the life vest for my daughter. We took a manatee tour with Fun 2 Dive and definitely recommend them! We will definitely be coming back. Hopefully in thr winter to see more manatees.
Book it! You wonât regret staying here. We loved our week long stay. The Key Lime Cottage has everything you could want and need. Location is great also.
Place is super clean. Two bedrooms and one bath. Kitchen is stocked with all the necessities. Located right on a canal leading you to Kings Bay and kayaks included. We used the grill and enjoyed our week to the max!
We really enjoyed our stay, the house is adorable and had everything we needed. Nice and clean. We were able to fish off the dock, saw manatees and a baby alligator in the back yard! We used the kayaks to visit Hunter Springs and Three Sisters Springs. Communication with the owner was exceptional. Highly recommend staying here!
What a great little cottage on a canal that (eventually) feeds into Kings Bay!
The property is part of a duplex, but felt private. It's close to Rt. 98 (a thoroughfare in Crystal River) in one direction and to Fort Island Beach (tiny beach on Crystal Bay) in the other direction. Convenient to everything without being right in the of suburbia.
Key Lime Cottage was super clean and new. Love the vibe of decor. The master bed was really comfortable. It had plenty of thoughtful amenitites inside and out, even kayaks, bikes, and fishing rods! We weren't there enough to hang outside, but the picnic table, fire pit, lounge chairs, fish cleaning area, and little boat launch ramp are all great features.
Vicki had suggested going to Crystal River Preserve State Park when I asked her about seeing wildlife. It's a zoo of sorts, where they care for unreleasable native wildlife. It's not fancy, but I happened across a rescuer treating one of their manatees and she spent a lot of time teaching the small crowd about them. And there were plenty of other amazing animals.
It was not "manatee season" in Crystal River, so we did not swim with the manatees.
We did drive about 30 minutes and kayaked Rainbow River, which was spectacular. We also drove about an hour to funky Cedar Key for a great clam and oyster dinner and sunset.
Thanks, Vicki for a great stay, we recommend your place!
