« We had a great time staying in this cabin. Made some good memories with fam and friends. Waking up to the fresh salty ocean smell, hearing the soothing waves, watching sunset in the nice windy yet cool weather. Our dogs enjoyed the sandy beach and the cabin too! The cabin/house itself is cozy and has everything a traveler needs. It is definitely a little rustic and has small leaks under the bathroom sink, but overall didn’t hinder the quality of our stay. »

« This was our second stay at Heron’s Hideway. The location is wonderful on a peaceful, beautiful lake and yet close to Florence a charming town with good shopping and many great restaurants. The hosts are very accommodating and ensure your stay is perfect. The provided kayaks allow you to get out onto the lake.We hope to return and highly recommend! »

« This cabin really takes you back... from a working percolator coffee maker, toaster, & stove, to the super cute blowdryer! Breakman's quarters is an end unit, & has a large, modern walkin shower. Nice water pressure. Kitchen has a working retro-looking fridge & microwave. Easy to access door code & ice available onsite. We enjoyed the view of the lake from the dining table & the adirondack chairs on the lawn. Its August, so many plants & grass have died back, & no train went by on our visit....

« Absolutely wonderful! The room and the lake is the destination. No desire to go elsewhere for entertainment. The lofts are a fantastic idea. 5 of us in 2 bedrooms and we hardly noticed each other. Plenty of room. The antiques in the rooms are beautiful and they function! What an excellent experience! »

« We went to Florence to play on the dunes and enjoy the quiet time at night. It was so peaceful on the lake. I would highly recommend this place. It's a little dated but I think that adds to the overall charm. »

« The house was lovely and we had a wonderful stay. The kitchen was well-equipped for cooking and the closets had hangers and drawers for clothes. The area is beautiful!As the listing states, there is no cell phone service. There is wifi that is usable but pretty slow. There was a landline phone in case of emergency. We had never played shuffle board before but had a blast with it! Instructions were included in the house binder. »

« To begin with the room, it was well maintained with the most unique old world charm. Everything was in good working order and the kitchen was well stocked. The lake was beautiful which added to a beautiful sunset. The train passed twice in the afternoon, but it was not loud. I actually found it to be quite interesting »

« We had a relaxing stat at "The Nest". It was comfortable and cozy. The representative for the Nest was very responsive when we were a bit unsure about the locking mechanism. We enjoyed meeting the neighbors across the street. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. »

« Very well stocked with everything that we needed. Pots and pans, dishes, games, plenty of table seating. Loved the view from the deck. Tried to do a pit fire, but the wood we bought went, oops. Did some cooking on the barbecue. The decor was very nice, too. We would stay here again!!! »

« Conductor’s Quarters was really clean and had everything we needed including oat meal which was fantastic because we forgot our cereal! We love this place! »
