Our experience at Jungle House was very disappointing to say the least.
First, the advertisement for the property was misleading, as many features shown and described online did not match what we found upon arrival. For example, the property was advertised as having a gas barbecue grill on the front porch, and when we called to confirm before out travel, we were repeatedly told there was one. However, there was no barbecue on the property. After inquiring, we were told that "gas powered equipment is prohibited by local authorities for short-term rentals." This could have communicated to us before we booked.
The overall condition of the property was also extremely poor and not as advertised. The plaster is coming off in several places, including on the ceiling in the bedroom. The paint is also peeling off in numerous places. The caulking is cracked, and windows don't seal properly. The doors were either damaged or difficult to close, the bathroom faucets are loose, and many of the electrical outlets are not securely fixed to the wall.
Additionally, the location is not ideal. The property is situated right next to a busy highway, making it noisy throughout the day and night and detracting from any sense of relaxation. This was also not disclosed in the listing.
Finally, an employee opened the door unannounced to change a battery on a lock.
Based on our experience, we would not recommend this property to others.
