Immediately upon arrival, I noticed some issues. The garbage disposal was clogged and unusable, causing draining issues as soon as water was running on that side. A horrible smell coming from the garbage disposal. In the bedroom, there was a large Tupperware on the floor filled with water. I was pretty confused as the host had not mentioned any new issues with the rental before arriving. It appeared water had been dripping and caught from a still wet ceiling above the Tupperware in the bedroom near the foot of the bed. The shower and sink in the bathroom also had draining issues, water accumulating in the tub and sink soon after turning it on. The bathroom had a mildew like smell. I also noticed the bathroom didn’t have amenities as mentioned in description like shampoo e.g. The living room had an air filter system attached to a sliding door going out to the balcony that did not close completely or allow renter to lock it, and a small gap about 8-10 inches allowed bugs to get inside. I attempted to close the gap. The apartment didn’t seem to have AC, fans provided. I tried to connect with the host to ask if a reduced price could be considered, but my ask was skimmed over and never addressed. The owner only said “these things tend to happen from time to time, so thanks for bringing it up!” However, these aren’t new issues, but ongoing issues and being transparent with someone who is paying a lot of money to stay is the right thing to do at the very least.
