Iâm honestly at a loss about how to describe this stay. We arrived at 8:30 pm to find a line of 4 people waiting to check in. There was a young woman and her daughter who had been waiting so long that they had pulled up a chair for the little girl. The problem was that they said she had to pay again even though she had already booked and paid through a 3rd party site. She showed them her confirmation and they would not honor it. The young woman behind the desk was not equipped to handle this and was on the phone with someone who she said told her to tell the woman to go to another hotel. It was crazy! During this time another couple did leave and go to another hotel. When it was my turn to check in (while the young woman still waited!!) the person behind the desk ran my card and later I realized charged me for the night even though I had prepaid with Expedia. I went downstairs the next morning and the very nice woman behind the desk said yes, this happens often. She got some guy, I guess the manager, Iâll never know because he didnât say hello or introduce himself. I explained the problem and he said yeah, Expedia only pays $15 at first so we charge you and then refund. He said Expedia sucks. I said that is ridiculous and if you know this is a problem why do not have a better way to deal with it? He said my charge from the hotel would fall off my card but I refused to take his word for it and made him void the charge. Terrible customer service!
