So close and yet so far (away from good service)
Very basic place and the room was ok for a night, considering it’s inexpensive. Service was poor. KEK is an easy journey to the airport, in an average area where police have install CCTV on most street corners. It felt safe enough walking around at night. KEK have 2 hotels on this street. We arrived late (we told them we would be arriving late in the "notes" section of our booking) and were told we didn’t have a reservation and were made to walk with our luggage to the second KEK, where Ibrahim the "Front Office" was quite hostile. We had Hotels.com confirmation and had paid in advance (he called Hotels.com “a failure”). He aggressively demanded I give him the Hotels.com receipt I had printed for myself (for the address and my personal details) and demanded proof of booking on my phone, which he grabbed from me and attempted to scroll through. Eventually we were given a room and had to walk back up the street to the second KEK. This delay meant any place to eat was now closed and they were unwilling to continue room service for us, so we went to bed hungry. The room itself was not as the pictures provided and did not have the amenities listed (e.g. no safe in the room, no free toiletries, etc). The mattress was 3 inches thick, not standard thickness like their photos. The towels were ripped and stained, but smelled clean. We booked KEK for the free Airport Shuttle, but were told it wasn’t free. At least the front desk assistant at our KEK was polite and apologetic.

Worn out old hotel - no water, no free transfer
Chose this hotel for a short night between flights as it offered free airport transfer, despite Expedia confirming free transfer to me they charged INR 200 each way. Room had no water. Expedia hasn't replied to complaint

Cet hôtel se trouve dans un quartier glauque.
À l'arrivée le réceptionniste nous a demandé de payer 100 roupies prétextant que les taxes avaient augmentées.
Les draps n'étaient pas nets j'ai dormi toute habillée.
La chambre ne correspondait pas à la photo soit disant "de luxe avec A/C"
Elle était loin d être de luxe et sans fenêtre.
Néanmoins l'eau était bien chaude, les serveurs très empressés.

Near from Airport but that's just about it
Hotel has a unique policy. Expedia customers have 12-12 check in check out rule but if you book directly with them, you get a 24 hour check out policy.
Rooms are basic but fine. Service is OK. This place should be simply seen as a transit place.

I stayed here because I was arriving into Chennai after midnight. The free airport pick-up was the draw. You may have to email to confirm it, but the response was very quick, so no problems there. The hotel is a too far from the city center to be conducive to good touring, but makes a great Airport link.

Very good for the value for any airport stay.
The receptionist and other staff members were very courteous and helpful. When I pointed out minor deficiency in the bathroom the receptionist expressed genuine thanks and willingness to correct it. Room service for hot breakfast was prompt. Wake up and shuttle service to airport was good.

Convenient to airport
Stayed from 3pm to midnight to nap between planes. Transportation to and from the airport was provided and worked well. The room was near the street and so fairly noisy, but it was mostly midday after all. We had an air-conditioned room, but it was not clear the air conditioner was working properly. In any case the overhead fan was all that was needed. I'd stay again.

Basic hotel close to airport.
The collection service from the airport was exemplary. Prompt and well handled. The hotel is close to the airport which is good. The hotel is quite basic but functional and has free WiFi, described as "high speed" but quite slow. Rooms are basic and neighborhood is not great. So I would use this hotel as I did for an overnight stop between flights but I would not base at this hotel if I was staying for work, just too basic. But for the airport transfer and good price I cannot fault.

Terrible. Please stay away.
I booked this hotel after reading all reviews. But my experience with this hotel is terrible. If you have international travel or traveling with kids or traveling with lot of luggage, I strongly discourage this hotel. The hotel management is very rude and they are not helpful at all. They don't know how to respect or how to treat the customers.
I booked two rooms well in advance. Both rooms are confirmed & my credit card is charged in total. I spoke to hotel reception couple of time before booking and after booking and called 3 hrs before reaching the hotel as well. They said everything is confirmed.
I went to hotel midnight at 1 am with kids & lot of luggage for international travel. I was told that only one room is available and need to wait for 30 mins to get second room. I was told that other person is not vacated the room I have to wait until he vacate the room. I was so annoyed & disappointed with their response. I am not sure whether they really know the meaning of advanced booking. They were asking me whether I can go other hotel, as my kids are sleeping & I have lot of luggage I said no. As I don't have other option I waited in the lobby for 30 mins, after 30 mins they didn't provide the room and they keep extending. Because of them I didn't sleep well on that night. Entire international travel was spoiled because of them.
They don't have elevator. They don't have phone in the room. WIFI connection was keep dropping. Bed sheets are OK but blanket is dirty.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in
I usually stay in lower end accommodation - all I need is a reasonably comfortable bed and clean sheets. I got neither at KEK. The sheets were ripped and had multiple oil stains. When I asked for different sheets, they were replaced by only slightly better ones. The room walls were stained and dirty and the bathroom smelled strongly of urine. I would have looked for something different but it was past midnight.
In the morning I only got a trickle of cold water. They did eventually let me use a shower in a different room (it was in only slightly better condition) which did have hot water.
I do not understand the positive ratings this place has gotten. The only thing I can think of is that I was not in the main building but in one a few doors from the main hotel. Maybe the main hotel is better. This was possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

All right for a few days.
I stayed in Chennai for 2 nights before leaving for Delhi. The staff is quite nice but most don't speak English. This hotel is allright for 1or2nights but I wouldnot spend a week there.

A stop over between Chennai and Pondicherry .
You get what you pay for. It is very convenient for the airport. I stayed there two nights in transit to Pondicherry, the room was very basic but reasonably clean,it had hot water and free Wi Fi. The staff were very pleasant and went out of their way to be helpful. It is a defiantly a budget hotel situated in a back street in Chennai, but as long as your accept it for what it is it's ok. I would be quite happy to stay there again.

Very excellent location, only 2km from the airport. The staff are very nice people. Our flight was delayed for an hour plus and the person waiting to pick us up for their free transport from the airport to the hotel didn't even complain. When we arrived at the hotel, most of their staff came to greet us. They helped us carry our bags to our rooms. They even offered to give us a morning call as our flight the next morning is very early. The next morning, the transport to the airport was very punctual. The rooms are ok and clean enough. But there are a lot of mosquitoes. But all in all, it's a good hotel and if I do transit in Chennai again, i'll be sure to stay here again

They double book rooms and have a rat in reception
We booked KEK Accommodation as it was close to Chennai airport and we were arriving in the early hours and they offered complimentary transport to the hotel. Payment was made in advance on line. We emailed all flight details and received a friendly response confirming. As promised were met at the airport and taken to the hotel. On arrival at 01.45am the receptionist tried to sell us an upgrade to an A/C room, we declined. Then he told us our room would not be ready until 3am as someone had missed a flight and wanted somewhere to sleep til then. We presume that is why he tried to sell us an upgraded room. After we protested, he offered to drive us to another of their properties across town. The whole point of booking and paying in advance for somewhere that offered a pick-up was to avoid such a situation and to get some sleep asap. We were told there was no choice, wait or travel elsewhere so we opted to wait in reception. We sat on a filthy sofa and almost immediately a large brown rat appeared from the hall where the kitchen was and ran along the wall and then behind our sofa. It did this several times, the receptionist took no notice. The room did become free at 3am, it was small, basic, reasonably clean and would have served its purpose if it had been available as agreed.
