The staff are lovely, the Greek culture is lovely. What lets this hotel down are the some operational issues and unnecessary gimmicks in the rooms.
It struck me as technology for its own sake rather than being useful for guests. Great if you want to spend 5 minutes every night working out how to turn off lights, from the 5 different technology clusters in the room, some of which are touchscreens and others are hieroglyphic buttons. None are actual switches.
Personally I don’t understand the design decision to put a sauna and plunge pool in the rooms. Apart from the safety implications of getting a surprise wet leg navigating across the balcony, the space could have been so much better used for storage or relaxation.
Room service is smiling but inconsistent, again ruled by buttons. You are just as likely to get no fresh towels or triple fresh towels.
Breakfast service is inconsistent too, waiting times after placing an order can be excessive and take 3 reminders. I saw guests give up and leave.
I loved that all soft drinks are free in the room. That is very welcome.
Location is perfect, quiet, and only 10 mins walk to busy areas.
I chose Hilton brand because I know the standard is high. This new build hotel meets expectations in quality and facilities but has a few operational issues to iron out.
