Hall House - Luxury Cottages
At a glance
Beautifully restored with design-led interiors and a wood-fired hot tub Unique Japanese-inspired master suite with Onsen bath Extensive grounds including orchard, wildflower meadow and shepherd's hut
About the property
Steeped in history, Hall House is a remarkable medieval structure, dating back to 1480, showcasing its original cruck-framed construction and characterful box-panelled walls. Now thoughtfully reimagined for modern living, the home centres around a beautifully appointed kitchen flowing into an expansive open-plan living space. Bedrooms are arranged across both floors for privacy and flexibility, while the surrounding countryside creates a setting that feels both restorative and quietly spectacular.
The space
Step inside where you will be greeted by a striking glass-lined porch, setting the tone for all that unfolds within. The kitchen sits at the centre of the home, complete with an impressive pantry and island that invites long, sociable evenings and relaxed entertaining. From here, the space opens into a spectacular living area where original beams, deep, sumptuous sofas and a long dining table create a warm atmosphere.
On the ground floor, a beautifully styled twin bedroom in mulberry tones offers a calm and comfortable retreat, with a sleek shower room just next door (the bed is zip-and-link to create a super-king if preferred, please contact us at the time of booking to make this request). Upstairs, the loft-style super-king bedroom is full of character, with its warm damson palette and elevated position offering a cosy yet airy feel, along with convenient access to the downstairs bathroom. ( the bed is zip-and-link to create twin beds if preferred, please contact us at the time of booking to make this request).
At the opposite end of the house, the master suite with a super-king bed is a true sanctuary. Finished in soothing sage green, the space is subtly divided by a partition wall, revealing a spa-like bathroom. Here, a traditional Japanese Onsen bath and rainfall shower create a deeply relaxing ritual space, complemented by a separate WC and thoughtful privacy details. The atmosphere is one of quiet luxury and intentional design.
Beyond the interiors, the two-acre grounds unfold into a series of enchanting outdoor spaces. The wood-fired hot tub invites leisurely afternoons and evenings, while the wildflower meadow and fruit orchard offer a strong connection to nature and the opportunity to forage. In spring, cherry trees bloom delicately, and the BBQ and pizza oven set the scene for long alfresco evenings. Tucked away, the shepherd's hut provides a cosy escape of its own, complete with a wood-burning stove, handcrafted writing desk, and a restful day bed.
Cinema room/event space
The ground floor of Grain Loft, just a short walk away, offers is a versatile event space which can be booked separately as a cinema room for your stay. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the room with natural light and open onto a terrace overlooking the meadows, seamlessly blending the indoors with the surrounding landscape. The space is equipped with a large TV, comfortable seating, a modern kitchen, an outdoor Argentinian wood-fired grill and a private studio office.
