'Marielle and Loic were very kind and warm. It felt like I was staying at my favorite cousin’s house, and the home being a Chateau was the icing on the cake. Le Chateau de Lavaud is a gorgeous, serene castle with a generous landscape and spacing. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom had a quaint, antiquated feel of Spanish / Moroccan design. 'Despite our reservation having been confirmed, the person we contacted on the phone the day before arriving said that she had no trace of our reservation.... She said she was only doing AirB&B. She was full and said there no way she would accommodate us despite our reservation having been made nearly 3 months before. The person on the phone was unpleasant. I asked her to find a solution but she was extremely unhelpful. It seems to me that this hotel uses several partners to optimize their room...

'We spent nearly 3 weeks at this wonderful rustic Gite. The Gite itself was perfect for us as a couple and a great terrace with lots of areas to sit around and read and eat. The Pool area was fantastic and we enjoyed memorable days. The location was great for all the wonderful places to see in the Dordodgne. The hosts were very accomodating. "We had a fantastic time at the site. The house is very clean and has everything you need to have a comfortable stay. The bedroom stays cool on hot days. There is a big pool outside which is perfect on hot days. You can sit outside under the pergola next to the pool, where you have a beautiful view over the area. The holiday home is located on a hill (great view), close to a forest for nice walks. There is a château nearby where you can walk towards. Alun & Sandra are lovely people, they give you a warm welcome on arrival, They are always available for questions or for a little chat. Alun cleans the pool daily and Sandra makes sure you have plenty of fresh towels available. There is plenty to do in the area, Brantome is close by (5 minute drive) where there is a great bakery & 2 supermarkets. There is a nice market on Friday. There are plenty of château's in the area, you have very nice walks close by, you can also rent a canoe in brantome. We would highly recommend spending your holiday here!"
