First, Hygge Home could benefit from a thorough, deep clean. We were three middle-aged friends on a simple, short getaway from our work and families. We arrived at a kitchen beset with roaches, a filthy coffee carafe, light bulbs blown. Thankfully, we found spare bulbs and changed the overhead kitchen light. To our dismay the bulb did not resolve the issue as the overhead kitchen light flickered on-and-off throughout the duration of our stay. The wi-fi information in the 'Welcome' binder is incorrect and outdated. We had to reach out to customer service in order to receive additional networks and passwords to try. Yet another obstacle to a relaxing stay. Broken slats in the bed frame of the downstairs bedroom. A heap of trash in the back yard. I could go on and on. Overall, if you are a traveler who enjoys a clean, well-lit kitchen to cook in as well as logistical information that is correct and up-to-date, I'd recommend passing on this property. It seemed fairly clear to us that Hygge Home is a neglected property within Avant’s portfolio. I mean light bulbs, wi-fi network info, working lamps, intact bed frames; this is accommodation 101. The basics. To be fair AvantStay reached out to me to talk about our experience. Unfortunately, the representative and myself are in different time zones and could not connect. Alas, we’ve moved on. Lesson learned. File closed.
