The overall house was nice. That said, when arriving the alarm was going off, attempted to contact the host without success. Eventually I/we figured out how to turn off a fire alarm, without assistance from the host. Cleanliness was fair. The host indicated that they had placed a white substance around the windows and throughout the home to deter ants. This substance was noted, as well as the ants. My family members had to battle ants throughout our stay. Also during our stay we had a water leak. This wasn’t a huge problem as it didn’t affect our trip but was something else that needed to be addressed. That all said, all in all the trip was a success and the stay was average.

The property was great for our large party. We were there for a Winter semester graduation so outside amenities weren't used. the number of rooms/baths were fantastic.The kitchen and accessories were perfect!As for areas of focus... I would recommend updating the family room furniture for comfort - the furniture is oversized but doesn't provide a lot of seating and takes up space. It was difficult to move around the tables that's in the same space. Also, I would get rid of any iron framed beds...they squeaked at any movement making for a miserable sleep (guests who stayed in the back room choose to sleep on an air mattress) We would definitely recommend the house to others just with these cautions.

Wonderful house for our family reunion

This is our second time to stay at this home for our annual family reunion. We are a large group and the home accommodated us beautifully. We especially enjoyed the covered porch - it had lots of seating and a pretty view of the property. The large yard was fun for corn hole competitions. Our family also enjoyed walking, jogging, and biking on the Huckleberry trail, conveniently accessed from the end of the driveway. The house feels secluded yet grocery stores are just a five or ten minute drive away. We hope to return next year!

Radford University Graduation Party for Family&Friends

Property was exactly as described, online photos where accurate, kitchen(s) were ideal for prepping meals for our family and friends, and living room/common spaces were ample in size for everyone (16 house guests), plus 25 college students that came to eat, socialize during the day, and play the multiple outdoor game equipment we rented from our graduate’s school.

We were lucky enough to book this location for the Metallica concert. We had a large group coming from many states and the space was perfect with the 10 bedrooms and hang out space. The owners were easy to work with and the house had everything we needed.

Perfect family reunion house!

The home was perfect for our family reunion! The bedrooms were lovely, comfortable and clean. There were lots of spaces for our family to gather in large or small groups. Lots of outdoor sitting areas and a yard for the children to run around in. The house is very close to Blacksburg, but we felt like we were in the country. The setting is quiet and peaceful. Access to the Huckleberry trail was just at the end of the driveway - a real plus for walking and jogging. Susan quickly handled a couple of problems. We can’t wait to go back!

Fun Bunch Weekend Get-Away

A great rental facility with all the extras. Plenty of room and very well maintained. Ample parking for everyone. We had a party of 16 and everyone was impressed with the accommodations. We plan to return in the near future. NOTE: Please conduct a pre and post inspection for continuity. This property deserves the best!

Extended Family Stay for Blacksburg Area Wedding

Our VT student got married in January in the Blacksburg area, and we booked this property for our extended family (13 adults and six kids ages 12-16) for the long weekend. The 10 bedrooms were perfect for all of us, giving the couples space, but also providing sleeping arrangements for the single adults and the multiple siblings/cousins. While the weather was not conducive to staying outside much, the grounds were plenty spacious to run a couple dogs around and give them their needed exercise. Location was close to Christiansburg and Blacksburg for the needed items we bought locally, allowing us to run those errands without a long commute back and forth. We hosted the Rehearsal Dinner at the property, adding an additional 20 plus guests. The commercial kitchen provided a space for food storage and prep and there was plenty of room for everyone to go through the Taco Bar and have a place to sit for the informal dinner. Reservation and communication with the host was fantastic, including coordinating for our son and his fiancee to go by the house in the Fall to see it in person to help our planning. Check out was easy.

Family reunion

Great property! Plenty of bathrooms for everyone. We really liked the commercial kitchen since we prepared all our own meals on site. It was also great being able to let the dog run on the property since it was all fenced in. We also liked the security of having the front gate closed. Wonderful place for us to meet, 14 of us.

Family Reunion

We loved the location and the size of the VRBO. Bedrooms and bathrooms were great. There was plenty of room to hang out together both inside and out. And the kitchens had plenty of room to store food and to cook. Tatjana was very quick to reply to the questions we had during our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the VRBO!

Wedding Weekend

Chirping Birds was the perfect place for extended family from across the country in town for a wedding weekend. We held the rehearsal dinner, welcome party, and wedding day hair and make up there, as well as enjoying some family time together. The abundant refrigerator space was especially useful not only for lots of food and drinks, but also the wedding flowers. Tatjana is a great host and extremely responsive. We highly recommend Chirping Birds!

Family Thanksgiving

A total of 21 adults and children descended on Blacksburg this past week for a family reunion and Thanksgiving celebration. Participants traveled from central Virginia, northern, Virginia, eastern, Tennessee, Connecticut, and Florida. This rental property was the perfect venue for our gathering. We never felt crowded, and the accommodations were both comfortable and home like. The commercial sized kitchen made preparation of our Thanksgiving meal very pleasant. The hosts were responsive and easy to work with. I strongly endorse this property if you are considering a similar gathering for your family.
