B&B in Bexhill-on-Sea

"What a stunning place steeped in history. From the beautiful exterior to the historical interior, everything was wonderful and authentic. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the service was top notch. We ate dinner in the restaurant and the food was great, finishing in the fabulous bar area with the enormous fireplace complete with hidden priest-hole. If you're looking for some ancient and typically British surroundings then you couldn't go wrong with The Mermaid in Rye."

"De accomodatie is mooi en netjes en schoon, er zijn een aantal zaken die niet goed zijn: 1. Restaurant hotel was gesloten 2. Geen airco op de kamer 3. Te weinig opberg ruimte in de kamer voor je kleding 4. Te weinig opbergruimte in de badkamer 5.Veel te warm op de kamers 6. Na 4 dagen restaurant open maar diner was slecht. 7. Geen goede professionele rekening kreeg handgeschreven briefje, kan je niets mee. "

"This is a nice hotel in a truly spectaculair situation. And what a vieuw! If you’re looking for luxury and large rooms this is not for you. But it is in a building with character and charm. Nice room and bathroom, clean, good bed and pillows and a good breakfast with plenty of choice. Carpets on the floor, not my favorite in any hotel, not hygiënic. For eldery people the roads are steep and slippery (cobblestones). No parking. Rye is truly charming, well worth a visit! "

"Oude kamers met gescheurde muren. Nog geen stoel op de hotelkamer. Verder zeer gehorig. In het dorp is niets. "

"Heerlijk verblijf gehad met seafront ruime kamer. Personeel was super! Vriendelijk, gastvrij en heel behulpzaam. "

"Located next to the beach but Very outdated, carpet in diningroom was filthy and patched up with plastic and ducktape. Seats in diningroom looked as if they were from the 2nd world war. Bed was ok Bathroom faucet was rusty and sink very small. I put my toothbrush on the Glass shelf above sink and it fell off. So everything really old and crappy. Pool was ok. TV worked (better than other hotels where we stayed. Breakfast was ok. Typical English but ok. Staff was amazing, very helpfull and nice. When you are lucky and find a parkingspot across from the hotel they provide you with a tag so you can stay all day. We stayed two nights and had a spot across from the hotel every day. "
