  • Notre emplacement est paisible et calme, tout en vous offrant les commodités de Bath et la magnifique campagne des South Cotswolds à deux pas ! Faites du shopping à Bath, baignez-vous en pleine nature dans l’Avon ou la Frome, parcourez les collines des environs.Vous pouvez même vous rendre à pied directement de la maison de campagne à Bath (7 miles) en longeant le canal, puis prendre le train pour revenir aux Rafters (nous vous fournissons des suggestions et des itinéraires de randonnée). Une fois de retour, vous disposerez d'une cuisine moderne, de salles de bains et d'un spacieux salon à double hauteur (l'ancien grenier à foin). Le gîte dispose d’une connexion Wi-Fi haut débit (37 Go), d’une Smart TV avec Freeview et de tous les services de streaming habituels.<br>Prenez le train local pour Bath (9 min), Bristol (22 min) ou Bradford-on-Avon (6 min) ! Beautiful, spacious, clean, comfortable. The Rafters was the perfect countryside retreat for a friend and I to stay in while visiting the west country. Lovely old cottage that has been meticulously updated and is full of character. The village is picturesque, and we found the location ideal for a car-free holiday. The Rafters is just a 5 minute walk uphill from the Freshford train station. We also loved the village Cafe and shop, which has delicious cakes and is only a 10 minute walk away. Gorgeous country walks nearby also. Would absolutely stay here again and recommend to anyone!

Freshford was a perfect place for a breakaway. The community shop and cafe were excellent and The Inn when open was fantastic too. The location of the Cottage is ideal for walking and exploring the canal paths, valleys and woodlands. The station enabled visits to Bradford, Bath and Bristol with little need for using your car during your visit. Although the station was close we were not bothered by the trains. The property had what we needed for our stay. The amenities listed 'Barbecue grill A rare find - perfect for a relaxed, outdoor grilling experience'. There was no BBQ in sight but we assumed that it had been removed due to the weather conditions, however not sure where it would be used unless on the driveway as there was no other outside area visible that belonged to the property and nothing we could see in the welcome guide. The downside to the property unfortunately was that the neighboring property occupied rooms above one bedroom, the kitchen and one bathroom. You could hear toilets flushing, showers being run and conversations being had which was somewhat disturbing and did somewhat spoil our visit. Had it not been for this the property would have been perfect.

Everything was excellent and the host even provided bacon, eggs, bread and butter! The railway station is a real bonus, just one stop from Bath

The host was very kind in leaving a few basics for our first breakfast there. The place was very spacious and worked well for two couples. it was a very pleasant stay indeed.

Great vacation stop

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay Rafters. It was close to everything, very clean and quiet. We all loved our 3 day visit! There was even complimentary eggs, bacon, tea, coffee and a beautiful loaf of bread for our first meal while there.

Lovely cottage in the country

We loved our stay at the Rafters. We were welcomed with fresh eggs and ham for our first breakfast and enjoyed walking around the town. Robin and Wendy were very responsive attentive hosts. The home was clean and cozy!

The apartment was even nicer than the photos. Robin and Wendy were both wonderful hosts and helped with recommendations and questions. Terrific hosts. Finding the train station was just a five minute walk was a very nice bonus.

A wonderful place to stay, beautifully clean and well presented and really convenient for Bath by car or train. Freshford itself is really lovely too and we enjoyed the walk to the pub and the village café. Super helpful hosts and we really appreciated the bacon, eggs and bread left for a delicious breakfast. A lovely property in a lovely village

My wife and parents had an excellent stay at The Rafters. The property is well equipped and situated in a quiet yet convenient location. Only ten minutes travel time to Bath using the train. Two big bedrooms and two en-suites. We made good use of the train station, shop and pub (Hop Pole Inn). Highly recommended.

Lovely stay. 10 mins from bath on the train. Beautiful neighbourhood, I would highly recommend the food at the inn - it is huge and delicious. House was super clean and spacious. Owners gave great recommendations for walks/ things to do and were super responsive. Thank you so much!

Lovely cottage in beautiful peaceful village. Excellent facilities.....2 dpacious ensuite befrooms. Comfortable Lounge eith netflix etc. and well equipped kitchenwith brilliant welco.e pack includes eggs bacon bread butter milk tea and coffee. Thank you Wendy and Robin

Lovely spacious property in a beautiful location with easy access to Bath and other local sights by road or rail. The cottage is a short walk to the train station with hourly trains to bath during off peak times. Not having to drive into Bath was a real bonus. The cottage was very clean, well equipped and a really lovely place to relax. Having two en suite bathrooms was a real bonus. The local shop and tea room is only a short walk, maybe 15 mins, though it is hilly so plan to use a car if this could be an issue. There is also no accessible access to the return side of the station platform but GWR are worth a call if step free access is needed. I would highly recommend The Rafters and would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful Cotswold experience

We loved our stay in Freshford. The home was spacious, clean and updated. The bathrooms were well kept and seemed to be recently renovated. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. Our hosts were great with recommendations for the area and even left us breakfast provisions. Loved having a washer and dryer available in the home to use. Kitchen is small but more than enough for a vacation stay. Convenient to Bath and a great restaurant just a walk down the hill. I would highly recommend this home and Robin and Wendy as hosts.

Perfect for our group of 4 adults!

My stay at The Rafters (with my spouse and my parents) was exactly as I expected. The photos and online description matched what we found when we arrived, and the hosts gave plenty of information about how to find it, get into the place, etc. so getting there was totally stress free. There were lots of added "extras" that made the stay even better-- the guidebook with restaurant recommendations, some provisions in the fridge-- and the location of the home in Freshford was ideal (close to the train station to get easily get to Bath or other cities). I would 100% recommend this place to anyone!

Es war toll.Robin und Wendy haben alles getan, um uns einen perfekten Aufenthalt zu schenken. Danke auch für das erste Frühstück.Das Haus ist sehr sauber und super gepflegt. Es war nicht wie eine Ferienwohnung, es war wie zuhause.Tolle Betten, keine durchgelegene Matratze.Aber mein Highlight war die Küche! In einer Ferienwohung eine Pfanne nahezu ohne Kratzer zu bekommen, habe ich noch nie gehabt. Dieses ist auch das perfekte Beispiel für die Ausstattung und die Sauberkeit der Wohnung.Den Kindern hat es auch große Freude bereitet dort wohnen zu dürfen.Danke euch beiden!

Es war wunderbar!

Wir waren sehr begeistert von dieser Unterkunft! Es wurde an alles gedacht und uns hat nichts gefehlt! Die Unterkunft ist sehr geschmackvoll und qualitativ hochwertig eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen. Die Lage ist auch toll. Man kann tolle Spaziergänge durch den idyllischen Ort machen. Durch die Bahnstation in der Näheist es aber auch möglich weiter entfernte Orte anzusehen. Wir konnten das Auto oft stehen lassen und z.B. Bath oder Cardiff mit der Bahn erreichen.. Also insgesamt ein sehr gelungener Urlaub. Thank you very much Wendy & Robin!
