Welcome to The Hideaway, our first ÖÖD mirror house retreat at Lake Bastrop South Shore Park, designed with a nature and forest inspired theme to help you reconnect, recharge, and feel grounded in the beauty around you.

Tucked inside the peaceful South Shore Park campground of Lake Bastrop, The Hideaway is a 221 sq ft ÖÖD mirror house designed for couples, solo adventurers, or small families looking for a unique stay in nature. Its mirrored exterior blends into the trees, offering privacy and jaw-dropping views from every angle.

We highly recommend bringing additional seasoned firewood if you plan to use more. Firewood is available for purchase at the camp store daily from 8 AM to 5 PM.

We’re also pet-friendly 🐾 ($39 per pet per stay), so your furry friend is welcome too!

And when you're ready to explore, Lake Bastrop offers kayaking, paddleboarding, hiking, biking, fishing, mini golf, and more—all just steps from your front door.



We just got our plunge pool/ wood-fired tubs all the way in from Estonia, and you'll be one of the first to use. They’re designed for a more natural, Nordic-inspired experience—different from your typical electric American hot tubs with tons of chemicals. There’s no power button or jets here. Instead, it’s all about slowing down and enjoying nature, just like in the regions where people are known to be the happiest and live the longest.

We drain and clean the tub after every guest, and it’s refilled with fresh water before your arrival. The sun may heat up the tub some but you can always put a bag of ice in it to make it as cold as you would like. Because Texas is usually hot, we recommend using it as a refreshing plunge pool. But if you'd like to heat it up, you're welcome to! Use the nearby wood and fire starter in the gray storage bin next to the tub to build a fire in the heating chamber.

Please note: we’re not able to preheat the tub for you due to variable arrival times.

You'll enjoy free entry into the park and all other local parks by LCRA Parks (Lower Colorado River Authority) with your booking!

Please note this glamping cabin is located inside of the campground spots at South Shore Park. You will be in your own private cabin tucked in the woods but still will be in proximity of other overnight park guests.

FAQ's

1) Do birds fly into it? No, there is a special UV film on it that humans can't see but birds can. They know not to fly into it when seeing the UV reflection

2) Can you see in it at night? Yes, but it is secluded and has curtains as well.

Please note: Our rentals are located in a natural setting where guests may encounter insects, wildlife, or other elements of nature. While we maintain our properties with care, sightings of bugs or animals are a normal part of the experience. No refunds will be provided based on the presence of insects or other natural occurrences.

Payment & Cancellation Policy

Booking deposit

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your reservation.



The remaining 50% balance is charged 14 days before your check-in date.



Cancellation refunds

Cancel within 24 hours of booking: 90% of your deposit is refunded (10% retained for processing).



Cancel up to 30 days before check-in: 90% of your deposit is refunded (10% retained for processing).



Cancel less than 30 days before check-in: no refund.



Weather-related cancellations: no refunds for weather-related issues unless an emergency order is issued by the county.



Security hold

A $250 hold (not a charge) is placed on your card one day before check-in to cover potential major damage.



If no damage is reported, the hold is released upon your departure. Depending on your bank, it may take 3–4 business days for the hold to clear.
