'A nice little overnighter with friends at the Wheatsheaf. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had our evening meal at the Thai restaurant next door which was amazing. We did see some plates coming out before leaving and the food at the hotel looked good too. Our room (superior)was nicely done, lovely fluffy towels and a great size shower. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. My only reason for downgrading the amenities was because there was no lift. We would go back though'

'A wonderful pet friendly hotel in the heart of Grasmere. It was decorated beautifully, and the room we had was spacious and clean. The breakfast was delicious, with a range of cooked options and a buffet style breakfast too (not to mention the dog got a sausage every morning!). Our only feedback would be that our room wasn’t cleaned during our stay, though it was only three nights. It would’ve been good to have the mugs and water jug refreshed, however I’m sure if we’d asked this would’ve...
