We loved the place. The lake was iced over so we didn't get to use the water. It was very comfortable. LOVE the view! Grill & washing machine worked great. It's huge for the money. The fire pit is great. I do think some city people may find fault with a few things. I never got my bedroom light to turn on and we never to the Wi-Fi to work in the apartment which was kind of a bummer because we got that part for my son and he didn't end up staying in it much because he couldn't use his computer. Some other areas could use some tlc however we loved it and will stay again for sure! Very peaceful and relaxing. Only regret is that I didn't get it longer!

Great stay, straight forward easy check in, clean very spacious and they even provide streaming services for guest, had many recreational activities and things to do on the property, close to Athens with may things to do in a peaceful charming little town and state parks were gorgeous , trains in the back were very quiet and cool to see passing through, hot tub was nice very peaceful area, perfect for relaxing hard and playing hard.

We really enjoy coming here — this is our second time this year. I will say the place could use a good deep clean (carpets cleaned & shower curtains replaced etc.) and some basic wear-and-tear fixes. The garage didn’t seem to have been cleaned in a while; I ended up wiping down all the surfaces, including the ping pong table, because it clearly hadn’t been cleaned. I didn’t mind doing it, but I know other guests probably wouldn’t appreciate that.We made Thanksgiving dinner during our stay, and the main issue we had was with the ovens. Two out of the three really need to be replaced. Other than that, we LOVE coming here. My family had a great time with all the games and especially the ping pong!

The pictures of the property on your site appears to be about 10 years old.O.ne bathroom looked like it was 100 years old. I have never encountered a house in such shape on VRBO. They have always looked lovelier than the pictures. The lake was green covered. Not happy at all with the place. Was surprised to see it on VRBO with your standards.

It was a good place to stay with a lot to do on the property. We only ever left to get groceries. There were some A/C issues in the apartment above the garage and the back bedroom. Needs some tlc but for the price and the amount of people it holds, you get what you pay for. The maintenance contractor was still there working on the hot tub when we arrived at 4:30 but we didn’t mind, it was nice that the hot tub was being drained and cleaned from the last guests. Overall, I would recommend for a quick weekend stay with your friends!

Short holiday family stay

We did a holiday weekend stay and had great weather for hiking the nearby Hocking Hills trails which were just beautiful. The kids really enjoyed fishing right off the deck and the hot tub was good for the after hikes.

Beautiful view!

The views of the lake were beautiful! The houses were clean. There was a ton of room for the six of us adults that ended up going on our long weekend. There was a big problem with ants, I know it’s a problem this time of the year, I struggle with them at my house. I just wish that they hadn’t been there. We really enjoyed our time there and would stay again.

Disappointing

Home has potential with some tlc. Spent morning after arrival cleaning. Floors , table, counter tops filthy. Hot tub and grill were not maintained. Work remote and last day had no internet and had to check out and get a hotel to be able to work. First Choice offered 15 percent off our next stay there lol. VRBO was no more help than First Choice was. Won’t be using either again for stays.

Perfect Family Trip

We stayed here with our entire family. All of the kids loved it! They enjoyed fishing off the deck more than anything and also enjoyed the hot tub. It was perfect! We stayed on Easter and had an egg hunt for the kids and grilled out. Def a trip to remember :) We plan on making it a yearly tradition.

Small Family Getaway

It was such a great experience from the beautiful view of the pond to the amount of space there was inside! All of the amenities were great it had 7 rooms total so it fit everyone comfortably. Only thing that was a problem but they mentioned they’d fix it after we left was one of the bonfire chairs were broken so we had to grab another chair. Also they mentioned they had a check in the same day we checked out so it did kind of feel rushed because maintenance was already there before checkout time which they notified me about, but I would’ve still wished to sit down and enjoy the view one last time after locking up but wasn’t able to do so which is fine. Definitely hoping to go back soon!

Our vacation

Two primary AC areas did not work at first, but when I notified management they were repaired the next day. This rental had plenty of room for our extended family which is really three separate small families with each able to have their privacy areas yet all be together on the same property. We would come back.

Perfect Getaway and housing for big group!!!

I booked the Island Retreat for My brother's Family of 4; my family of 5; my other brother; and my parents. 12 people total. This location was perfect for us; everyone got enough room to sleep comfortably. The dock was perfect with the shade on one side; we did A LOT of fishing! There was a canoe and peddle boat on the dock waiting for us. We used them a lot as well. There are 2 other locations on the same lake; we could hear others at times, but nothing disruptive. The location was safe and remote, but not too remote where you wouldn't be able to get any last minute things for your stay. This made for such a great and memorable trip for my whole family.

Poor conditions

There was note stating the room "may" be damp due to a leak. The room was SOAKED and completely unusable. - The home with the two bedrooms had a mouse in it. Mouse poop was in the kitchen cabinets so we chose to not use that area at all. - I wouldnt say the place was filthy, but it was not in any condition to believe someone came to clean the place prior to our arrival. There were ants, dust, and dirt everywhere. Overall, we were disappointed with the conditions of the home. I was hoping 1st Choice would be willing to provide a partial reimbursement but instead, they ignored my concerns entirely.
